So I went out to several stores today searching for a bottle of Future Floor Polish knowing what it looks like but I couldn't find any at all. I just ordered a bottle on Amazon for more than I wanted to pay for it. But I want to know where do you guys get yours?
If you have a walmart near you they have it in the chemicals isle, I had to buy some for our floors, only cost a few $'s.
My walmart doesn't have it, however my K-mart does. So try different stores near you and hope they have it.
I am surprised some walmarts dont have it, the kmart near me didnt have it, but i am sure you can find it somewhere
I tried finding it at my local Meijer's, Target, Kroger, and Sears. I couldn't even find evidence of it (eg price labels).
Future was discontinued in a lot of places, Australia, Canada, so i'm not surprised you can't find it. Neither can i. It's not a necessity, so don't worry.
Well i've never heard of it discontinued in America. You should be able to find some sooner or later.
So is it the end all be all that I get the impression people think it is? Will it really allow me to make repaints fully usable as toys?
If you dyed them, then yes, repaints would be fully usable, as you can't scratch dye, obviously. But no matter how much you seal paint it will still wear. While Future will seal well, it's nowhere near a be all end all. Hell, my customs aren't sealed at all (gloss coats dry up in 40+ degree weather) and they hold up fine. Just don't go playing with them toomuch, they're more display-worthy than play-worthy.
I would never say anything would take on this kind of mantle. However, ever since I've been using it, I haven't looked back . . . other than regretting using it on my work prior to using it! Regardless, though, anytime you create a custom, there's always a danger of paint wear. Even factory toys from Hasbro/TakaraTOMY experience this.
If you are planning to use the future as a way to seal and protect Alclad chrome lacquer dont bother. It will ruin the shine and make your chrome just look like polished silver.
Zildjian, if you've had a positive experience using Future with chrome, could you explain the "right way" here? I think that would be a lot better than two persons simply arguing "yes" or "no" to the original poster and each other. Thanks
Question: I bought Future online and have just finished applying it. My question is should I use more than one coat? In case it matters, I've painted Sidearm Sideswipe.
