Anyone know of a place where I can get large plastic or resin ball joints?
They need to be BIG. Like an 1" in diameter

I picked up some of these that might work for you:

Hobby Link Japan - Big Size Ball Joint Gray

The prices are great and the shipping from Japan is pretty fast. The only real downside is it's in Japan, but they have a lot of great products ranging from toys and books to model kits and customizing/kitbashing materials.

Good luck, man--hope you find what you need.

oh yeah. those may work. Do you have them in hand?
The pic says they are 8 mm. is that milimeters? If it is, they would be way too small.

Yep, that's a little less than a third of an inch. 25 mm would be more along the lines you need but I can't for the life of me find any online. Is there any way to build it using styrene possibly like what Lobo did here?

you're likely going to have to simply get creative to get something that huge. some kind of ball toy, for example. I don't see you finding anyone who sells balljoints so abnormally large as 1 inch.

well I may just have to look for action figures that have ball joints that big. I need some that have the ball and socket style joint. If it weren't for that, Bionicles would have worked just fine.

    thanks!

I get the majority of my ball joints and sockets from existing toys. it's nice to have the peg on a flat surface already. I don't trust or use ball joints which aren't backed up with a screw through it's back side.
