    Hi everyone.

I'm moving from CA to TN this week, and I've had to select from my collection a mere 1 box of toys to bring along with me. :(

I see that a lot of you guys have these cool shelves which look essentially like square pieces of glass held together by a metal frame. These things also seem to have opening doors, too.

I have no idea where to start looking for affordable display cases. Can anyone help me out?

The glass cases are from ikea and are called detolfs, or you can go to walmart and pick up a bookcase for 40-50

if you don't want something expensive and glass covered, i recommend getting a TV stand...i got one at walmart for like 25 bucks and its got 6 big shelves that allow TONS of TF's...it currently houses all my universe/classics and all my movie figures...

The cheapest display cases I have found are glass aquariums. I got them cheap and they work perectly except for Masterpieces.

You can't go wrong with those Detolf cases, theyre simply amazing and only at $60. I do like that Aspvik as recommended by LifePincher. They look nice and less dust coming in, but nearly doubling the price and you can only view the figure from 1 direction are let downs. Either way, post your collection when you get that display :) .

What's the deal with the Detolfs not being able to be bought online? I don't have an Ikea store near my city...

    :(

No Ikeas in Tennessee. It's going to make move-in a bitch, considering I'm not bringing any furniture with me.

Depending on where in Tenn. you are moving to, there is an IKEA in Atlanta.
I live about an hour or so from Panama City, Florida (just to give you an idea) and it is worth the drive to Atlanta to grab some of those Detolfs.

Hell, pick up the Detolfs, see the aquarium, grab a Varsity chili dog and make it a mini-vaccay, lol.

I have a few (but don't reccommend unless it's no big deal to you what you want) sets of those 10-12 dollar white plastic utility shelves. Cheap, easy to break down and store, but they aren't exactly level or balanced.TF's display nicely on 'em, but forget about any G.I. Joe, Star Wars or other figures you might have to balance to stand up.

Thrift, antique, Goodwill and second hand furniture stores would be the first place I would look. The 2 that I have, 1 for me, 1 for the wifes knicknaks, were both found at such locations....cheap.

Big Lots have 5 shelf bookcases for $30, avaliable in oak, black, or white. They're probably 6 1/2 - 7 fee tall.
