Hey everyone. Im new to this site and pretty new to collecting, <1yr. My question is where can I find KO toys from companies like THF , Robot Hero, KBB and the Takara KOs here on U.S. soil? The only sites that I can find that carry those 4th party products are in China, like TFDirect and the Show.z website. I would like to find a U.S. based website that carry these and have them up for pre order. Is there anyone here that can help me?

I figured that. I am really looking for the KO versions of Megatron from an American based site. I dont wanna take a chance of hefty fines and all of my future foriegn mail being detained by customs if they are siezed coming into the U.S. There is always ebay, but will prob be awhile before any are listed and even then they will prob be used.

Look for Rubaspawn posts and in his signature he has his for sell thread.
He offers very good deals on KO stuff. It isn't US based but you pay through PayPal so you get that securtiy blanket and a lot of us can vouch for him.

Other than that I'd say look at eBay.

There is too much legality and risk for US shops to carry those direct KOs.
    You won't find it.

I may very well be mistaken, but Hasbro (and most other companies) don't do business with any store that also sells KO's and have taken actions against stores that did several years back (there was also a huge crackdown on eBay several years ago which killed a lot of KO sellers). Places like BBTS, TFS, and the like thrive on being Hasbro vendors, so they won't ever carry them. Third party are one thing, such as upgrade kits or alternative figures, but KO's are a no go.

I'm a bit confused. Where did you find there are hefty fines and seizures for KO figures? Most of the enforcement actions I've seen have been against resellers who order large quantities, not individuals who buy one figure. I've ordered tons of stuff from aliexpress and other sites without issue. Is there a particular example that you are thinking of?

Okay. You can find some decent (honest) vendors on Amazon. Bestgrey is good, but his prices are kinda all over the place. China-based, so shipping takes a while.

I do know Toy Dojo has some of the KOs listed in their store.

I didnt find an example, no. I did look for one. I assume there there could be hefty fines if the gov wanted to fine an individual. I am sure there would be for resellers w large amounts comming into u.s. That is prob why BBTS uses the orange plugs on MP36. I am also sure many people have had no probs importing megs in the past w no orange plugs. Just fig I might have bad luck.

www.tf-direct.com office is in Vancouver BC ; shipped from China.
What does it matter though where the office is... A US based vendor would have to get it from China too.
    tf-direct takes preorder.

Dont want them imported in my name and address w o orange plugs. Dont wanna chance to have them seized and possibly be fined. Im sure the chance is very small, though.

AFAIK you can’t be fined for purchasing a KO? Is the product even technically illegal? If Takara or Hasbro where to initiate proceedings against one of those companies and have the product declared a breach of intellectual Property then just maybe a store could get in trouble for selling them but as long as the copyright holder isn’t enforcing or invsetigating, I don’t think it violates any laws. And certainly an individual can’t be prosecuted for purchasing one. This isn’t like the nonsense anti-piracy laws the film industry are forcing down everyone’s throats. Course I’m in Australia so our circumstances are probably different.

sounds like he's worried about the gun aspect. I wouldn't. They'll be packaged in robot mode and labeled as toys. However, toy dojo does sometimes carry KOs, but I doubt they'll be carrying MP-36 KOs.

I bought a MP-36 from a big US Vendor and it didn't have the orange plug. No way your robot mode delivery is going to be seized. Customs only looks for items that look like a gun and not what can become a gun. A thing that looks like gun barrel is not gun or a replica gun. You can make anything look like a gun .
That is a pipe or a black tactical flash light hasn't got an orange tip on it.

That aside, the law is taken to the extreme and fixes or prevents nothing. Kids that play with guns in public should of been educated that is not allowed in today's US and other countries. Adults want an adult gun replica to look real, then the gun will look real.
