I've heard about Ross, Marshal's and TJ Maxx. Are there other clothing sorts of places where one can find rarish toys?

That memory is correct, I once saw an Animated deluxe Sentinel Prime in a Sears around early-mid Animated era.

There are STILL Animated toys at my local Sears. I saw Skywarp, Shockwave, and Starscream a while ago.

    To this very day?

I also can't believe Shockwave is still shelfwarming. He's an almost perfect figure.

Maybe there was to many of him in his wave.

Kohl's, as already mentioned, has actually been a very good spot for me to find stuff. They randomly send $10 off anything coupons in the mail and tend to get in a case or two of the newest stuff before a lot of other stores. I've gotten some figures there a month or so before seeing them anywhere else and those coupons make them cheaper than more "normal" toy hunting spots - and in some cases free.

Never hurts to watch local grocery store chains, or even semi-national ones like Aldis, who got in the Kamakura wave of movie Joe figures a couple years ago. Kamakura himself is still extremely scarce despite most his wavemates turning up elsewhere. And Walmart Neighborhood Markets getting the first wave of RtS deluxes a bit ahead of other stores. And Kohls sometimes has stuff other stores haven't got yet.

Burlington Coat Factory and Grocery Outlet carry toys here during the Holidays. Sears as well, as they do every year.

Safeway's also getting cases of Rescue Bots and the Mini-Con cases that've been at BigLots and such for the better part of the year.

Sears and Big Lots are not unexpected places. They're suppose to have a toy section and they don't specialize in selling one type of thing.
