I'm still not convinced it won't be Bay.
Idk about this. After TF5, I doubt Paramount would cast him as the director again
bumblebee is tf 6 a stand alone
I always refer Bumblebee movie as BB because it's not a sequel to TF5 (TLK)
The problem with the theory of Bay returning is two fold.
One is will Bay's ego let him return if there is a chance that his next Transformers movie could do even worse at the box office than The Last Knight did? It seems like the box office is a spot where Bay takes a load of pride. If you really want to set Bay off you mention the box office of The Island. Box office is the part of his movies where he stakes his pride. It would be a massive hit to his pride if he did another box office disappointing Transformers movie to tarnish his record.
The other thing is would Paramount take the huge risk of Bay in the directors chair again? It used to be that Paramount could ignore angry fans, angry critic, the domestic slump and everything else by saying well our world wide box office is enough to ignore everything else. But with The Last Knight is landing in 23rd place domestically and 14th place internationally. For a lot of franchises that has been fatal numbers so it could be the end of live action Transformers if Paramount goes with more of exactly the same by having Bay back in the director's chair.
Probably after the success or failure of the BB movie.
I'm betting TF6 is unofficially in limbo until it is REALLY determined if the Bayformers are even worth bothering with at this point.
I’m guessing we won’t know until Bee’s movie comes out because there’s a lot of doubt in its future right now.
I think the movies need a reboot. Whole new direction with a new director.
It's Michael Bay. He will always be. If they announce someone else, it's probably just Michael Bay in disguise.
I'm going to be honest and say that i really cannot say bay won't be back. Not sure why, but my gut feeling days he would try to market a new sequel as a redemption for him and the series.
And his breaking his silence recently was a way to engage in, and start, the conversation.
Gotta say, I'm 90% sure it will be Michael Bay.
From a PR standpoint, the franchise can't survive another Bay directed installment. Based on his comments recently, I'm hoping he came to that realization.
I've been of the belief that TF6 wasn't gonna make that 2019 release date ever since TLK flopped the way it did. If it is still on for 2019, then I'd expect an announcement between February and April.
