I bought the "headmasters" series and was wondering when shout is going to release the other two series seperate and not in a complete box set with "headmasters"? please don't tell me they are ONLY releasing those two on the complete boxset and not induvidually because that would be lame since a lot of people have already bought headmasters and it wouldn't be fair to have to buy it a second time to get the other series..thanks..

AFAIK they're only available through Shout in their Japanese Collection box set - Shout! Factory Store

And if I had to guess, I'd say that's the only way they're planning on releasing them. There may not be enough demand for the other two as separate series.

If that ends up being the case, that is some serious BS. I also bought the Headmasters set soon after it came out with the understanding the other two individual sets were coming.

They DO exist, in that all the box set is comprised of are three individual series sets packaged together. The Box set Headmasters case and DVDs look identical to the single series release. So at the very least, Shout Factory could offer Masterforce and Victory singly through their website or something. Or offer a package deal of Masterforce & Victory with the silver box, a cardboard insert in the place of the Headmasters case, and a reduced price to factor in the removal of Headmasters.

But having fans buy Headmasters first, then giving them a lengthy wait followed by telling them the only way to get the other two series is by re-purchasing the first series is flat-out shady.

I got to agree. I bought the Headmasters set. Didn't even know there was a full box set containing Masterforce and Victory.

I'll keep waiting for a Masterforce set to show up inexplicably at the Target up the street.

I bought Headmasters straight from them at Botcon with the understanding that the other 2 series would be released later on. If they pull a Box Set or nothing after telling me to my face that they would be sold separately later I will be pissed!

    Relax everyone.

This has been gone over and hashed thru multiple times.

They did the same thing with G1 and the box set too.

So the others should be following along as well just like it did with the others.

Official? No, but just going on past releases.

I bought Headmasters so I could watch it on something other than my laptop as well.

Sorry to say but this is a very different situation than with the G1 releases. A teired release works for something that is indemand. But the Japanese series is more niche. I think we are damn lucky we even got the box set, so if anyone really wants all three series.... better bite the bullet and buy it while you can.

Then maybe that's what they should have said to us before selling us Headmasters singly. Why do I get punished for being among the first to rush out to support their efforts? That makes no sense.

Something similar happened to me with the tv series, Twin Peaks. There was a season one release that did not include the pilot episode due to a rights issue, and that's all we got for YEARS. Fine, I bought season one and waited patiently.

Finally, years later, a season two release was announced, produced and sold. Great, I picked it up the day it was released. Still no pilot episode.

    THEN...

They announced a full box set, both seasons packaged together, AND for the first time in the US, the pilot episode. That was now years ago, and to this day, they STILL have never released the pilot episode separately on dvd. Had they announced this box set prior to the season 2 release, I would have bought it. But they didn't. What they wanted was to get me to spend $100 to re-purchase stuff they already sold me. Basically a hundred bucks to get one tv episode.

Well, no. They (CBS DVD) can go screw themselves. I'm not going to support that kind of behavior.

The situation is a little different with Shout Factory, but it's still extremely disappointing if it comes to that.

Yeah, if I have to repurchase Headmasters (which I didn't really care for TBH, it was quite a chore to get through.) just to get the two shows that could be good, I'll simply have to take a pass altogether. Also, $100 for this is just way too much, especially considering how much the shows sell for separately.

And not cool to call another member names who is trying to help you.

Yeah, I had a Masterforce link but in looking at it again, it's PAL not for USA, so it wouldn't help you now anyway... why don't you order it from Shout??
