You can interpret what I mean by the phrase 'good thing' as loosely as you like. I got the idea for this thread when I read the title to the thread 'Is defending a TF show or film that you like a good thing?' and I thought I would flip that subject on its head and ask it the other way round. Firstly I know that nothing should be immune to criticism or could be seen as 100% good in everyone's point of view, so if that if that is true nothing can be 100% bad either. I would also like to draw a slight distinction between criticising and hating on something. the word criticism in relation to a creative work means a 'considered judgment of or discussion about the qualities of something'. healthy, free, constructive and tough criticism is essential as it helps creative types with feedback to develop and improve to combat mediocrity. hating on something is when people forget to describe what makes something bad and instead vents insulting, nasty and un-descriptive phrases like garbage, rubbish, useless, pathetic . I know this website is a largely positive place and encourages people not to troll but if you read the unpopular opinions thread some people seem to be hating a hell of a lot, is this hating ever a good thing? what do you think?
