Dipping my toes in the Shapeways water.

Ordered these in two sizes, the tiny ones were SO tiny that I'm taking them out of my store, and the larger ones, which are pictured.

Pretty happy with the results, going to do some larger size ones as well.

Printed these all in Frosted Ultra Detail, and I'm pretty pleased with the material's performance, pretty durable and flexible, not as much as WSF and it's kin, but GOOD, and with a VERY smooth and clean finish.

I'm going to try some other artist's kits (Ramrider's Triggermasters, likely) in Ultra Frosted Detail, and Polished WSF soon, and see how these new materials work in a more robust application.

Anyway, my humble little embossed emblems can be found in my shapeways shop if anyone thinks they might have use for 'em.

They're so tiny they don't look like much before being cleaned and painted, but these are some of the other prints I got, I really love how the Malignus emblem turned out!

    Ebay:
looks nice... but if you cut them in half... horizontal would it be less high...
that's what bothers me... best would be 1mm in depth ;)

When I uploaded these Shapeways's systems were having an issue and they weren't accepting 1mm thicknesses, so I had to go a little thicker, I'm planning on revising them to 1mm now that that's been resolved.

And yes, cutting them in half would also be an option, but they're soooo tiny I couldn't bring myself to fight that fight, in person they look fine, and G2 SG AirRaid's nestles very nicely into his flank.

Too hard to see against a light background. Take a pic against a black background.

well if you cant make em thinner have you considered just putting a face of each end? that way WE as customers can just cut 'em in half! and get two outta one?

Here's two in different lighting conditions, neither is quite working, but better against the dark background for sure....

You could do that with them as it is :)

In any event, some performed better than others and I need to tweak all of them for optimum printing, but they're usable.

OK gang, brief update on these, I haven't had a chance to make any of the tweaks mentioned above, and in fact I will be REMOVING these from my store in a few days.

I'm starting work on a new project that will be Shapeways driven, and I want my store clear of any IP-infringey stuff.

Just wanted to post and update, and give folks any time they needed to place an order, just in case anyone was considering doing so.

    Thanks!
