As mentioned in the title, just curious when the Hasbro MP figures usually get announced?

I was hoping to see an announcement on MP10.

They don't really have a pattern with their releases, right? So I'm going to go with a very serious, not sarcastic at all "whenever they do"

    Botcon?

When did they announce the SDCC MP Rodimus? Did people know about it before the show, or was it a surprise for people when they got there?

Either way, my prediction is that the trailer-less Hasbro MP-10 will first be available for sale at this year's SDCC. If it's coming out here at all.

Toy Fair. MP Grimlock was announced at NYTF 2010 for the US Market, and MP Hot Rod was announced at NYTF 2011. Toy Fair runs until the 15th, so there COULD be a reveal. Who knows? Maybe there won't be a MP fig in 2012.

Maybe that's the "doozie" Hasbro hinted at.

Probably! It's probably going to be MP-10 if it is indeed an MP reveal. I have MP-01 and actually prefer MP-01, but I like MP-10 also and I won't hesitate to pick it up.

We might not hear about a Hasbro release of MP-10 until after MP-11 is released? Maybe? Just a thought.

Sure. It makes MP-10 a PRIME candidate for a reveal.

I'm curious why it takes so long for them to import a Masterpiece figure. TRU will take it like always and they don't have to do much in the way of extra engineering. Maybe it's a deliberate delay so they have a big announcement at Toy Fair or something?

Perhaps because Takara want a certain amount of lead time so as to justify their pricing?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest their marketing strategies are just a bit more thought-out than that.

If Hasbro gets the TRU exclusive MP-10 it will be my first Masterpiece Transformer. I can't wait.

It was in the case at Botcon. I have a GREAT photo of Protoman pining for it. I'd imagine Hasbro will reveal it at Botcon, again with an SDCC release.

Absolutely zero chance of it being bypassed for a US release - it's Optimus Prime, he'll sell on the strength of the name.

Why can't they reveal it now? I'd like time to decide which release to get, & time to save for whichever one I go with. I'm talking about MP10 here, I think I'll just go ahead & get the Takara release of MP11.

I don't see why, or how it's going to be an issue. The Masterpiece line is a limited release that is marketed pretty much exclusively to collectors. MP-11 isn't even out yet, and if there's any hot MP item that I think would be great to market here is MP-10. It's been years since MP-01 came out in the US, so, why not? I would definitely buy MP-10 if it came out in the US, no hesitation here.

If you want MP-10 and have the funds that either choice is possible, why not just go for the Takara release? There is no chance in hell the Hasbro release is going to be better. It will cost less, but it will also LOOK like it costs less, and it almost certainly won't have a trailer or most of the Japanese accessories. And to top it off, it will probably be missing chrome, too.

$270 VS $60(estimate) in a tight economy? Eh...and I may not have the funds. Even if I did, it would then take FOREVER to regain enough to buy the next one, & by the time I did, MP13 would be out, & I'd already be behind again.
