I mainly focus on G1 and Classics, so Animated hasn't been a high priority for me.

However, I love the Animated Dinobots and decided to buy Slag as my first Animated figure - he's great. Now, of course, I want Grimlock and Swoop. I've been to all my favorite sites but Swoop is pretty much sold out across the board. Of those I did find, they are just as expensive (if not more) than Grimlock - anywhere from $30-$40.

When the hell did Swoop get so pricey? Is he that rare? Anyone know where I can get one for a more modest price?

    just gotta be patient

eventually you will find at least 1 swoop on a peg

like with me and soundwave, he was the LAST soundwave on a peg at my wal*mart

He's was sold out there yesterday - that was one of the sites I checked along with BBTS, TFSource, ActionHQ, Transformerland, and KB Toys.

Wave 4 just came out. He's a deluxe and is a 10 dollar figure if you find him at retail. I wouldn't pay 2-3 times that price, since in a month from now, you'll probably see nothing but Swoops on the pegs at stores.

It was hard to search for wave 3 when they first came out, took me about a month to find animated Snarl. Today, every store I go to, I see a bunch wave 3 figures.

Check Kohl's for deluxe figures. I've been hearing that they've started stocking wave 4 in stores. It'll be a good place to find them since Kohl's isn't exactly a spot most people will look. The prices will be a little higher at kohls, by 2-3 dollars.

A little patience if you don't want to pay eBay bucks for him. Wave 4 just came out and as of last night (around midnight) HTS did have some Swoops in stock as I was checking around for Universe Wave 3. I got mine from BBTS along with Ultra Magnus because I'm rather impatient, but the eBay prices are getting a little retarded for Swoop (Sentinel still isn't too bad though).

As of this post, swoop is available for $9.99 at HTS. The price comes out to $15.97 with standard shipping. This is definitely a better deal than the $30 to $40 prices the thread starter has been seeing.

I picked one up a week ago from HTS when I saw he was available. He's a cool figure and worth the few extra bucks you'll pay in shipping.

EDIT: don't forget to use TF2009 for 10% off at HTS

Swoops are really easy to find out here in northern IL by my house. I've seen them just about everywhere I go and more than one of them at each store.

Thanks, all, for pointing out he is available on HTS now.

I just picked up him and Grimmy for $36 shipped (and, yes, I took the 10% off).

Now, what (if any) Animated characters do I check out next...

Depends on who you like. I'd recommend Ultra Magnus personally. Great update to a great character.

both TRUs by my house are closing down and relocating and upgrading to the new TRU superstores by the beginning of next year. Neither of them have had any transformers for at least the past month and a half.

If you have a Kohl's nearby, check that. One just opened down here and there were tons of Wave 3 and 4 as well as Movie Premiums.
