Its a shame RID01 has been practically forgotten. Probably my third favorite Optimus Prime.

I'm going to go with Aligned Optimus, I love Animated and G1 Optimus but I love the lore and interesting storylines that Aligned Optimus brings to the table. As an aspiring writer and animator I just love storylines I can sink my teeth into.

G1 Optimus. Specifically G1 Optimus from the Sunbow series. As much as I love the animated movie it's been detrimental to all versions of Prime that have come after.

G1 and Animated are in a dead heat; the characterizations are equally compelling, IMO.

I'm going to go with the IDW Prime. Even IDW fans seem to hate IDW Prime, but I find him more tolerable than any other incarnation, largely because he's flawed and quite slow to take action. I just feel completely disconnected from every other 'big damn hero' moment Prime has ever had. The music swells, he shoots, he smashes, he says something pretentious ... and I feel bored. I prefer to see leaders stressed and pulled in different directions, because that seems a truer reflection of the position.

Probably G1 Optimus, say what you want about the G1 toon's characterization, but I feel that he was the most well-rounded Optimus. He was a strong leader, but he also never tried to put himself above the other Autobots and never saw himself as inherently better. He also was much more of an everybot as apposed to the stotic Prime/Robo-Jesus of later incarnations.

OP, see why I titled my post "strongest op of all time" and not GOAT or favorite. Kinda knew g1 op would take the cake.

I'd say Animated just because it's such a departure from the other Primes. I liked seeing him slightly disgraced and leading a small team before becoming the main leader.

Where's my Pepsimus Prime option? D:

Though, I'd have to say Animated, it's fun to see him not as the all grand Jesus figure leader, but as a lowly maintenance team leader. Plus, he seems younger and has some funny reactions.

    love IDW Prime.

an unsure being, a prime no more, self-exiled and lamenting, but always willing to return to help his people and the universe.

especially the flashback when he was a young cocky righteous cybetronian super cop ready to hit the beat and bust some heads, completely oblivious that his biggest case leads into cybertron's greatest war.

Gotta go with g1 prime, such a hero and as much of an icon as rx-78 msg. I loved watching his character in any situation and keeping a calm sort of attitude and looking out for others. He was what sparked transformers I think.

G1- the guy had a lot going on personality-wise. He could be serious, deliver an epic speech, crack jokes, dribble a ball, dish some insults, mow through some cons in hardcore (kid friendly) pg-13 style, etc etc.

A few of the Primes we've gotten since then tend to highlight only one aspect of his personality- usually the over-serious epic speeches, as though the only time the modern writers saw G1 Prime was TFTM, where he was understandably more serious.

    Runners Up: Animated, Bay Prime

    - I like TFP/RID Prime, but he tends to be too dry & emotionless. Still, those moments of personality that creep through are worth it for me.
