Continuing on from the Armada, Energon and Cybertron threads, we now reach Classics.

This tiny line was a only a filler to the Movie but damn did it make us want more. It gave us a brilliant updated G1 Prime, if not, one of the best Prime molds. We also got many more Classics figures.

So many great molds to choose from from this line but my favourite is definitely the Starscream mold. It's perfect with some flaws but they can be forgotten. And to choose one from the Autobots it got to be Mirage, that thing is soo poseable.

So what's your favourite figure from only Classics ?

Funny, my first thought was Mirage too. A nice update of the design that turns into a perfectly shaped F1 racer, and the robot mode manages to be very tall and convey the feeling of speed and power in the legs.

It's practically impossible to choose just one.

    My favourites are:

    Optimus Prime
    Jetfire
    Seeker mold
    Bumblebee
    Sunstreaker/Sideswipe/Red Alert

The rest are all great, but those figures I could not be without.

This is really hard. In all honesty, I don't think anything has beaten the ORIGINAL 2006 Classics range (for one reason or another, I don't think the 2008 Universe ones hold a candle to them. I almost consider them two different lines).

Anyway, let's see (in no particular order)
    Starscream
    Jetfire
    Bumblebee
are probably my top three moulds. Mirage is awesome too.

Out of the original classics line it has to be the Jetfire mold, followed by Astrotrain and Mirage!

They are all even nicer in their Henkei paintjobs.

I have to completely agree here. The poseability on this guy is outstanding as well. To me, Mirage exemplifies the strengths of the Classics line.

    Tie between Optimus and Bumblebee

Maybe give the edge to Bumblebee for the sheer amount of Bumblebeeness inherent in the toy.

Am I not allowed to choose the entire line? :lol

I think Starscream actually. The amount of time I spent fiddling with that toy was insane.

Bumblebee. Perfectly captured the character, and manages to look modern and cool while still maintaining the somewhat stout, pot-bellied look of the original. This little guy is actually, I think, one of my all-time favorite TF figures. He has so much personality.

The Seekers would be a close second, for providing a faithful, near perfect update of the G1 mold. I only wish that they were a) a little larger, b) had biceps swivels, and d) didn't have the tendency to fall over backward.

Astrotrain for me - and I fully realize I'm in the minority.

Rodimus would be a close second.

Voyager Class Optimus Prime. I love that toy so much. On mine the paints a little rubbed off on the yellow parts on the arms. But I still love him.

ive gotta go with the first two i saw on the shelf that fateful day 4 years ago...not knowing a line such as classics even existed: starscream & grimlock. i know i may be in the minority when it comes to grimlock, but...seeing updates of my two fave characters ever on a random toy aisle check...reignited the kid in me and my occasional transformers buying habits snowballed almost overnight. my only regrets is that i didnt get a few of the other characters back then instead of having to go to the secondary market years later.

Mirage. I dunno why, he's just so sleek and yet still manages to have some articulation. And he does all that while having insanely good balance!

My only complaint would be the weapon. Really feels like an afterthought.

Second would be the Seekers. Just so awesome. Especially in the sense that they manage to make blocks with wings actually cool. And their million and one uses for kitbashing.

I credit these figures (along with the '07 movie) for getting me back into Transformers after not paying them any attention for years. I had went into Walmart to check out the movie figures and happened to see these on the clearance isle. So I picked up Optimus, Rodimus, Grimlock, Cliffjumper, Mirage, Ramjet and Megs for about half price. They had all the rest of them too (including Devastator and the 20th Masterpiece Prime) on clearance and I never went back and got them :(  Now after seeing how difficult they are to come by along with the price, I really regret not getting them all when I had the chance!

I can't really pick a favorite though as I really like all the Classic figures!

All of them, especially the ones I don't have. Hasbro nailed it with the Classics line and thier Universe and Generations follow up lines. In My Very Humble Opinion, these toys capture the playability and nostalgia of what its all about.
