    .... all time figure?

I haven't collected in a while, and was curious especially with all the new figures out now. I grew up with the classic G1 Optimus and Soundwave ... but with all the new versions and styles .. it got me thinking which ones over the years stood out the most?

i don't know about 'all time' but right now, looking at Buster Optimus Prime (with face plate) makes me smile 24/7.

All-time? Not too sure about that, my favorite figures change every week and the current one is Animated Leader Bulkhead.

But if I had to choose an "all-time" there will be three:

    1) BW Inferno, this guy was one of the few I had as a kid, and I had so much fun with him.

    2) ROTF Leader Optimus Prime, wicked sick Transformer

    3) Animated Voyager Optimus Prime, just looks plain cool.

Buster Prime, solid chrome with die cast parts and rubber wheels.

Oh, you mean REAL and not IMAGINARY favorite figure. :)

It's easy for me to default to Binaltech or Alternity, but if I met someone that had never heard of Transformers and I could pick only one to show them... one that would convey everything that is great about TFs, it would be G1 Prowl. Great alt mode, bot mode, weapons, playability. It's all right there.

For sentimental/character reasons I have to go with TFA Waspinator.

I love the character a whole lot, and BW Waspinator was one of my first figures back in the day.

In terms of just pure engineering/technical ability in a toy, lately is ROTF Prime. I've hated this fig for awhile, and I've finally figured out why. He literally transforms, from a Truck to something that barely resembles such a thing. He is a carbon copy of his screen-self, and it really shines. The toy doesn't have a bunch of playability, but the engineering is just maddening. The molded detail is just frighteningly, well, detailed, such and such, etc. boom de yada. You get the drift.

Knight Morpher Commander (won't even have him until next year, but I know he's gonna be the best of them all, ever)
    Masterpiece Megatron
    Masterpiece Black Convoy
    Revenge of the Fallen Mixmaster
Revenge of the Fallen Optimus Prime
    Animated Shockwave
    Animated Oil Slick
    Animated Blurr
    Movie Leader Brawl

That's a nice lil' list for now.

    Hmmm...that's a tough one man.

There are so many...G1 Apeface, G1 Chromedome, G1 Snapdragon, G1 Scorponok, Predaking (He's 5, but anyway...), G1 (D-62S purple) Galvatron, Powermaster Prime (C-310) aka "God Ginrai", all the Masterpieces...

Probably my mint Brave Maximus...or my mint (Yes, a MINT 20 year old TF!) G1 Victory Leo. He's just so badass, with a great alt mode, satisfying transformation, and the ratcheting joints I sooo love.

Hands down, my favourite is Encore Prime. My first Transformer as a kid was Optimus Prime and I had that very same toy until I was about 14...then I was "too cool" for toys and sold all my Transformers. When I picked up Encore all those hours of fun playing with my G1 bricks came back. It was the first time in literally decades I had a complete G1 Prime. It's one of the few toys I doubt I will ever part ways with.

There's so many, this is always a hard question to answer.

    Contenders would have to include:

    Animated Shockwave

    ROTF Leader Prime

    2007 Concept Camaro Bumblebee

    Classics Megatron

    and a few more.

Tough one... probably Takara's MP Skywarp, but any of the MPs really.

If ROTF Buster Prime had been Masterpiece standard, it could well have been that, tho - it's already an exceptional piece of work, considering it is a toy aimed at a far wider market than Takara's more niche, adult-skewed lines (i.e Masterpiece, Alternity, et al).
