He was a Wrecker too. Yet Springer and even Sandstorm get more toys than him (even if they are repaints).

I want more G1 Broadside toys (even if they are repaints).

Are you referring to the actual G1 toy or the later modern versions of him?

I've always liked the G1 Broadside toy. It's not perfect by any means, especially in robot mode, which is slightly pathetic, but it's an excellent jet fighter and an even better aircraft carrier. Perhaps it was rushed to production a little early and it could have used some more design work (for example, doing something interesting with his legs), but I'd say there are plenty of worse figures.

Broadside most definitely is lacking in newer toy versions of his character.

I've seen a custom Broadside that was made outta Armada/Energon Tidal Wave mold. That was absolutely amazing!

There are no later modern versions of him. Thats what I'm referring to. I called him G1 Broadside as the character not the toy.

I didn't make any reference toy the toy in the post.

When you say "G1 Broadside," is it so surprising/unreasonable that more than a few would think that you were referring to the toy?

Looked like references to me :)
Anyhow, Like I said, I like the character, and I'd definitely like to see a worthy toy, or even a repaint of something like Generation Seaspray as Broadside!

After seeing the Avengers, I could see Hasbro tweaking Broadside and replacing the jet mode with a heli-carrier mode. It just might simplify the design process enough for Hasbro to consider tackling him as the next Classics tripple changer. Not to mention it would seem more appropriate than a fighter jet mode.

I have no issues with the character at all (and he has the distinction of one of the few battle moments I really liked in "Carnage in C-Minor")

The toy, however, is perhaps one of the most literal interpretations of the term "brick" applied to Transformer toys.

So if I say "G1 Megatron" (as opposed to other characters also named Megatron) in the topic title then talk about wanting a new toy of the character in the post, people will think I'm talking specifically about the 1984 Megatron toy?

And I think I'd prefer a jet to be repainted into Broadside than a boat. There's really not that many decent boat toys around. Expecting Hasbro to do a new triple changer Broadside at this point is far fetched.

Basically, yes. People will get confused if you put it that way. I thought this thread was about the actual G1 toy and not a modern update. You could have just said a classics/generations update to simplify things.

Broadside is on my short list of TFs to get. I honestly don't know why, but I've always loved Broadside dispite his short comings.

As for an update..... I'd like to see a new third mode. Maybe a base mode. Just picture an aircraft carrier headed for shore and just as it gets there it transforms into a port base, a dock with a couple speed-boat Mini-cons. The Mini-cons could also be triplechangers with a third jet fighter mode.

    Add to the list........

My favorite board member: Loser Broadside :D

He so use to have the best sigs.

I agree here. My issue with the character was it's "believability" if you will. I mean there's mass shifting, but turning from a fighter to an aircraft carrier? Come on.

I think having this avengers/sky captain-ish flying carrier would be a great modern update.

Broadside didn't have a good show presense, and didn't really in the comics except the UK. There was the awesome idea of a kid getting an aircraft carrier toy, especially if it turned into not only a robot, but also a jet. Then imagine the horror when us young kids ended up with this:

Broadside is probably my favorite triple-changer. It's unbelievably cool that Fansproject is honoring him with their Assaulter - can't wait to get one.
