So I got my other half to pick this guy up from Greece (of all places) so he could go with my Action Cape Batman.

He's 14 inches tall, and isn't the same as the 10 inch rotoscoped Superman , or the 12 inch electronic Super Powers fig. His only gimmick is he's super articulated (well, super for a Mattel figure)

My query is where HAS he been released? I know he wasn't released in the UK, and from my google search of US based internet toy companies he's not on sale there either.

The only official news I ever had of his was months ago in Toyfare, but no mention of this guy exists on any Mattel website. There's a picture, but nothing actually about him, just stuff about the inflato suit (LOL!) Sound gloves and radio control Superman...

    What gives?

Was this guy even released over there? Or is the UK the only anomaly? Or was he one of those figs that most places didn't stock up on? I'm curious...

    Edit

Done more of a search, and practically nothing! There's only one eBay auction for this guy, from Singapore no less

And one entry in eBay shops! Its like some kind of internet toy hoax.

I saw some at Toys R Us and that is it. The thing is big, but up close I thought it looked crappy.

Still doesn't compare to Spider Man 2's super articulated 14" figure. Face should look more stern. A little too happy looking for my liking.

Got mine at TRU and that's the only place I've seen him. Not as good as SM2 superposable, but better than Action Cape Batman.

Wait a minute. I know which figure this is. I did see it at Wal-Mart. The problem I had with it was the face sculpt. It was on the cover of ToyFare before it was released with a really good head sculpt with a kind of angry expression. But when the figure hit the stores, they changed it to a more bland expression. So I passed on it.

When I saw it in Toyfare I thought it was going to be 6in like a ML. When I saw it was 14 in it was a major turn off..

They were major shelfwarmers around here. Too big, really.

Ahh, so they were released in the US... I know I haven't seen them in the UK...

So why do places like BBTS not have him? I admit, if he was ML sized he'd be superb figure, and his size does detract against him, but its still a nice figure (and probably the best figure to come out of Mattels Superman Returns line).

Its just odd it never came out in this country. Maybe Action Cape Batman sold so poorly Mattel UK decided to pass entirely on this guy? Hmm.

Yeah, my country is flooded with this guy the last time I checked at the major retail outlets. I passed him up because I didn't like the face sculpt.

Why is Superman burning Cyclop's balls? lol

This is bit off topic, but is it just me or does the headsculpt of most of the Superman Retuns figures look more like David Duchovny?

Because James Marsden is the actor who played Richard White, Lois Lanes new beau after Superman left Earth.

James Marsden also played Cyclops in Singers X-men movies... hence Supes burning Cyclop's nads!
