Wave 4 of Deluxe Dark Of The Moon contains Mudflap, Laserbeak, Jolt, Thundercracker, New painted Bumblebee and New painted Ratchet. Repaints are not that great to me and there are no new molds in that wave.

So what's the point of that wave?

It's probably not going to sell. And if they don't sell, we can kiss any future waves Bye Bye.

Because repaints are necessary to keep the price of a deluxe under $25 (look at the price of Tak/To figures, they don't do many repaints). And it gives wave 3 carry over. The Bumble Bee and Ratchet repaints are all there is of wave 4, I'm probably going to buy them. Plus it adds to the pool of BB's for parents to buy for kids. Optimus, BB, and Ironhide are what sells to kids.

Just because you don't like repaints, doesn't mean others don't.

    C'mon...

There are people who like these repaints better than the original colours..and you can just take a look in the Radicons section to see many people already
making use of that new red ratchet.

If you are gona make a repaint at least make it a worth while. Like give Deluxe Roadbuster the look he had in his Concept art, or Give Leader Sentinel his IDW Color scheme, or give Deluxe Crankcase a G1 Repaint. The problem isn't the idea of repaints, it's the lack of decent looking repaints thereof.

Dude, we get it. You want new figures. Creating a slighty different worded thread about it repeatedly is really getting old.

Because the price of labour, raw materials, have increased sharply in the last 10 years but retail prices (in the U.S at least) have barely moved.

Unless you're willing to pay a lot more for your toys, deal with it.

    Fixed.

Oh no, it is. Read between the lines. He was told not to start anymore about them, so this is a thinly veiled attempt to circumvent that.

-"Which means I won't get my Mirage!"

First of all, repaints sell well (I'm pretty sure)

Second of all, Hasbro has made waves of just repaints/remolds and future waves have been made (RotF wave 6 for example).

Finally, quit bitching. Just stop. Now.

EDIT: Also, I'll tell you what the purpose of this wave is: To sell toys!!!

Wasn't there already a thread questioning the liking or why people bought repaints already? :redface2:

THIS. A thousand times this. This is one of the few repaint waves I've seen that I am completely behind, mainly for Evil Bee and a Ratchet based on early concept art colors. This is the first repaint wave I've actively hunted down since... I wanna say Sideswipe and Silverstreak in Universe or Axor and Rescue Ratchet (Never found either) in HFTD.

Poor selling waves hardly ever mean an outright cancelling of future waves. If a Deluxe Mirage DOES exist (and I highly doubt it at this point) and he's released as part of a wave that is released later on down the road, the poor performance of an earlier wave would have nothing to do with it. Looking back the last few end-liners have been hard to find not because of shelfwarming, but because of retailers wanting to move on. Look at the fate of Animated. Look at the ROTF wave of Redpage and Evac. HELL, look at Reveal The Shield's scouts and the last of Generations.

Mirage is not coming in 2011 anyway. Consider this. Both the previous movie lines only had 6 waves of deluxes in the movie's year (IE '07 and '09). Movie 1 had 10 deluxe waves overall but 3 were all-spark power and the last was premium series. ROTF had 9 waves overall, the last 3 were NEST allaiance waves. So really we've seen EVERYTHING that's coming for the rest of the standard DOTM line. It'll be slightly rebranded for 2012 and put out more figures. I'd say 2-3 more waves of deluxes, 1-2 of voyagers, and 1 more of leaders. We've even seen the preview of the Evac figure at SDCC.

Jolt, Mudflap, and Laserbeak are new molds. I think I have found the point or wave four.

As tired as these threads are, I'll give you props for not bringing fucking Mirage up.
