IDW can reprint it any time they want. They still have the license, they're still on great terms with Hasbro, and I'm sure they still have all the files. Let them know on their forums that there's still demand for this and maybe they'll do a second printing. They've done second printings in the past. There is absolutely no reason to pay anything near $200 for this. And it's not like IDW wants you to. They don't get any money when some sucker buys something for a ridiculous price off the secondary market. They'd much rather you pay a normal price buying it from them. Alternately, they could sell both volumes digitally, the way they do their TF comics. Then they wouldn't even have to go back to press.

Don't encourage the scalpers and the price-gougers.

 

After hearing that I'm glad I got mine for £15 off of amazon.  

 

Vangelus increases the value of most things. Allspark Almanac 2 is one of those things.

The price changed directly after Christmas, like first or second week of Jan. I know because I waited on ordering it in case I got an Amazon gift card for Christmas. Kicking myself now. Wasn't expecting it to go bananas.

The holdings are a bit grim but there's enough for a decent Interlibrary Loan request string or two and the majority of those lenders are free/LVIS lenders so your local public library could likely get a copy in for you. I'll let you guys know how that works out.

Just a heads up, but to anyone else still interested in Allspark Almanac volume 2, I just got it from amazon for $14.

Ordered it a few days ago when I saw they said they were going to get more in stock and were selling them at a human price again. It arrived today, and it is indeed volume 2.

If anyone else missed out on this before, I suggest ordering now. Amazon says they are out of stock again but that they'll get more. Alternately, you can buy new from an amazon seller starting from $11. If you want it, don't let it go out of print again and have resellers re-jack up their prices.

 

I've noticed this with the Armada and Cybertron DVD sets. It pisses me off cause I really want them but not for those prices.

 

I literally just bought one this morning off Amazon for $13 shipped. Amazon also has it listed as out of stock but you can still order it for about $14. They have some other sellers selling them around $30. The cheap ones tend to go quickly and the $200 ones tend to sit around which is why, more often than not, it appears like the going price is $200, even though it's not.

 

Good thing I found a copy in Rhode Island.

 

I just went on an amazon shopping spree yesterday and picked both almanacs up along with some other books. I think it was 14 bucks. But I also signed up for the credit card and got a 50 dollar gift card so that was pretty nice.

 

Success has been had getting a copy through interlibrary loan. So happy totallynotevil!employer lets me use the fancy book scanners for personal use. :3

There are only a few lenders for it though and make sure that you mark that you need volume 2 (I had vol 1 sent instead twice).

Still hoping to find a decently priced hard copy though.

 

Check on amazon. I got it for like 14 yesterday.

EDIT: Never mind. I just looked again and all the cheaper ones for Volume 2 must have been snatched up.

 

I panicked a bit when I saw the outrageous prices for it on amazon. I'm certain I saw it around Christmas for a decent price, but not now. I'm keeping my eye on ebay though; I've gotta get this book.

 

I got a copy for 10 dollars at slag-a-con last year. I still can't believe I got it so cheap.

 

Probably old news by now but Amazon has it on sale for actual reasonable prices now. Just got mine!
