Broadcast has been out for a while and we've yet to hear anything about the next reissue. Whats the deal?

The deal is, we won't know until Takara gives us something concrete one way or the other. The newly merged company may be looking at their options with reissues and trying to decide which ones are the best choices.

I thought it had been a week since this last came up. I got cash in my fist, ready to spend on Geewunny goodness, with an emphasis on the Victory series.

And for all we know, they just might decide to cancel the reissue line all together.

That, or Tomy suddenly understands that there is a huge market for highly wanted G1 toys and they start releasing lots of expensive figures and sets with jacked up prices, like an G1 Dinobots gift set with all 5 bots for $300 and G1 gestalt sets for $150-200, Black Zarak for $150..stuff like that.

Based on some of their recent moves, I have little doubt such a thing has occured to them.

If Takara/Tomy knows best, they won't cancel the re-issue line. If they do then they really have their heads up their asses

I don't imagine anything will be released reissue-wise until October at the absolute soonest.

They'll do whatever the money tells them to do.
I guess it's not speaking to them loud enough about the vintage

Yeah, I really don't get it. Nothing on the reissue front, but we've got the Kiss line and weird membership requirements for getting a properly colored Starscream.

Either they're marketing geniuses that know a lot of stuff we don't or they're utterly incompetent fools. The jury's still out, as far as I'm concerned.

I'm sure the reissue line will continue.

And if the other lines Takara is putting out right now are any indication, it'll be something like a green version of G1 Cyclonus that comes with a nurse doll that's bending over at the waist so you can see up her skirt.

Yeah, they could be using the same market research they had when they came up with the Kiss line. They are just waiting for the little girl dolls which will be packaged with them to be made. But would they get odd accessories too?

I said this the last time this topic came up, but I think the bookstyle reissues are done and TakaraTomy will continue reissues, but only in more special one-off reissue events. Think like Predaking or Star Convoy.

What makes you think the book style type of reissue is done? I thought they were making money. If they do discontinue them, then I would prefer the original type retro packaging from the beginning of the reissues.

Dont these things have the habit of selling out worldwide? they're a huge success. it'd be stupid to stop them.

and lucky us, takara/tomy is pretty stupid.
