This guy has been a repaint of a Decepticon mold since G2. What gives?

Granted, the G2 repaint of Space Case was more believable since the mold was drone-like. However, Cyclonus and Mindwipe are pretty distinct Decepticon molds. I don't get it, but maybe there just isn't anything to understand. He's probably just that unlucky.

I'm not too thrilled with it myself, although I did get the Cyclonus repaint. You figure they have to repaint some molds, and I guess they wont' be making updated Technobots anytime soon so they may as well use the names on repaints.

I'm hopeing they will do a red skystalker autobot repaint at some point so it will help justify the strafe. Perhaps as windrazor. Who was a triggercon, and then a Aerialbot in Energon. Also like how the name has good wordplay with the Axe accesories.

and its more a case of the molds getting thrown between factions to play with more sinister or Heroic color schemes. Notice how since cybertron there have been virtually no molded faction symbols, just paint?

I wouldn't count on it, but it does make one wonder why they didn't just make Sunspot red and an Autobot.

Because the "combining" gimmick of the Skystalker mold is such a small part of it that it's almost a non-factor in the toy's design?
