He was a late-day release, so not many of him got made. Also, a lot of people passed them at the time because of the perceived poor designs. Guess that's fuelling demand now, even with a vastly superior Grimlock on the way.

Agreed. I only saw 2 or 3 E. Grimlock and Swoops at the end of Energon and in general they were very difficult to find in a lot of areas. The design for the individual bot modes weren't bad, but the combined mode blew chunks like old faithful!

I actually like the combined mode a lot, it just takes a bit of reconfiguring to make it look decent. If you go by the instructions, you will have a turd.

I don't regret getting them at all.

Grim & Swoop seem to have been caught up in the typical deal where stuff toward the end of the line doesn't pull in as many orders from retailers. (which makes the trend for a repaint-heavy end of the line seem to be an astute one) I just hope Alpha Quintesson doesn't get too caught up in the demand after the fact. (All I know is I saw the Q-man sitting around for months after Cybertron started, which I can't say for the Dinos)

All Energon Grimlock haters are totally delusional.

All Energon Swoop haters aren't too far off the mark.

All Mega-Dinobot haters are pretty much on the money. :)

I got them and I like them. These are good homages to G1 and it's too bad we didn't get to see the other Dinobots.

I have the set, they don't deserve to be displayed, I have them hidden in the back of my instruction books and various prime trailers (I have no room to display trailers...)

I love the set just because they're Dinobots, but other than Wing Saber and maybe Hot Shot they're the weakest mold in the entire line. I fiddle with most of my Tfs regularly, but Grimlock and Swoop have been on display only since I got them.

My thinking is that the original designs must have been better, and they ended up getting cheaped out (Swoops missing real hands for instance). I like Swoop better than I like Grimlock. I do not like the combined mode even with fiddling. They seem vaguely Armada-ish, and meant for younger kids. I want a true 5 to 6 Dinobot combiner anyway.

I never saw them, and no store had them in stock when I finally gave up looking for them.

I've never seen them in person. Had I ever spotted him at Retail, I would've picked him up.

Swoop isn't too bad, but Grimlock...... it's like they just stopped halfway thru.

    I LOL'd

Even opened, they're still in demand.
