I'm way backed up on my gameplaying, and so I don't usually end up playing games until about two years after they've been released. as such, it never makes sense to get them used. I was just wondering what any of you have found as being the best way to get used games. my two best things I can come up with is waiting for places like gamestop to have buy 2 get 1 free on their used titles, and ebay.

    Borrow them from friends?

Most people are happy to share the experience, ya know? If you're on PSN you can share accounts and get all the other person's downloads for free too.

    Steal them. =P

But honestly? Trade with friends, flea markets, clearances at electronics stores. A lot of the gamestop/EB style businesses make quite a bit of money off the used games they sell you, and their big used game sales are few and far between. Craigslist might even have some good deals for you.

My strategy is to buy games for full price I only really really want for and know for sure I will like them. Then good games that I kind of want just for my collection or only marginally want to play I wait until they're 20 or 30 bucks. I also pick up NES games for around 5 dollars each and SNES games for about 10-15 dollars each on good finds on ebay. If your patient good deals will come.

I get most of my games from Gamestation and Game, mostly used.

Gamestop sells used games at marginally cheaper prices than new games. So I avoid them and look on local sales sites like Kijiji and Craigslist. I've bought fairly recent games for around half the retail price

I would suggest using a crowbar to break into someone's apartment that works 3rd shift, and just take everything they have. It happened to me, and I hope that the people that did it are having fun! I would be!

thanks for all the ideas guys. however the one thing I'd like to mention again is that I usually end up playing games about 2 years after they come out because of how backed up I am on my playing and how little time I actually have to play. so getting CURRENT games at a low price isn't the issue, it's getting current gen but older games that I'm looking for. for instance getting something like devil may cry 4 or metal gear solid 4.
