Now that the DOTM toys are out, what do you guy's think is the best Voyager Ironhide? To my understanding, the first 2 movies shared the same mold, just some different paint apps and weapons. Is the newer DOTM version smaller? Thoughts...??

I think the new DOTM is a little bit smaller. Not sure, I don't own him. Just seems to be a trend for DOTM.

As for best Voyager Ironhide, gotta go with Recon Ironhide. Such a BAMF.

The Recon mold is best, but it's not movie accurate.

Go with the regular Voyager. Premium paint if you're looking for something nicer. The mold is solid and the flaws aren't that bad compared to...

The DOTM. The chest is a big fail. The arms suck. Not worth $5, let alone $20. Also a lot smaller.

Recon Ironhide is a fantastic toy. I got to like the HftD repaint a lot as well.

Recon Ironhide by a landslide. I've got no interest at all in the DOTM voyager, and the previous figures don't have an effing Rambo knife!

I still think the very first voyager toy of Ironhide was the most accurate. (some have had better play value, though).

I did buy a NEST Ironhide and switch the heads though, the head on the first had some issues, and the NEST one looks great.

I just got Leader Ironhide yesterday, but I think I still have to stick with the first being the best (although there is a lot to like with Leader). If the paint aps were better (and they may yet be- MP?), the mouth guard either worked better or just wasn't there, and they hadn't done those stupid mini pop out cannons in his arms he would be the best. (also mine has a QC issue with his knee- when he gets easier to find I may try to exchange him)

The original with the NESTS head and guns is the best.

Well, the DOTM Voyager has some really funky arms, and is one of the more drastic size downs in the DOTM line from ROTF, in size and bulk. Personally, Recon, while very inaccurate to the movies, is the best toy in that size class.

I'm gonna be in the minority here, and vote DotM. From a detail standpoint, he really is the most accurate Ironhide to date. He just loses out in proportions, but the original Voyager didn't really get that right, either. Definitely a much cleaner transformation than his predecessor.

I don't display any of them, as I'm not a huge fan of the old mold, but I'd say the Recon figure is the best, despite the waist issue.

I'm hoping the Cannon Force figure will correct some of the flaws of the new mold.

But the arms really kill the mold. Plus the god awful chest transformation.

Don't have any problems with the arms at all. Ironhide has weird arms, period. That's how his CG is designed. They're movie accurate. Shoulders are restricted, but they would be, jammed up under his fenders.

And once you swap the wheels, the chest locks down well enough.

Still not very secure, as I did the wheel swap, and it's still a bitch to get to lock in securely. And while the arms don't look bad, they don't function well, articulation-wise.
