Exactly. I get the figures I like, end of story. I almost never feel any need to be a completionist, so I tend to stick to figures that I like.

 

Well they're both really good lines, I just happen to like more Animated characters than the choices for Universe.

Animated definitely has the edge over my Universe collection in numbers, but the amount spent on both lines is about even so far.

I like both lines, but classics/universe is my favorite hands down.

 

I'm more impressed with universe for some reason (but then again the only animated i own thus far are leader megs, blackarachnia and the two pack).

Universe Sunstreaker is just so sweet.

Universe, aside from Leader Megatron I've regretted pretty much every TFA purchase thus far.

Universe is easily the way to go as long as you just stick to the deluxe and bypass the voyagers and most of the ultras.

 

Universe > Animated

 

Definitely Universe. The only Animated toy I have was given to me by a friend who bought a couple and was not impressed at all. Universe toys are interesting and more importantly look like kickass robots.

i plan to be an Animated completist, but i plan to buy various Universe as well, im skipping mostly repaints of stuff (not counting Sideswipe-must!)

 

Well they both bring fantastic new molds to the table in the form of G1 references through the entire line. Universe is shaping up to be awesome because I can get some of the cybertron molds that I missed out on with G1 based color schemes.

And animated is just one wonderful toy just coming at us one by one. Almost every one of them look fantastic in both modes and fantastic posability.

 

i personally feel the two lines are too different to compare and choose which is better..
the animated line is cartoony, really fun to transform (pretty easy) and they look great in both modes..the universe line is more G1 accurate, obviously...the vehicle modes are very realistic and ...well, totally different to animated...and both lines rock...i find it hard to afford both too, but there's just no way to choose one line out of these two  

edit: i decided to complete my animated line with ultra magnus, but i really dont want blackarachnia.. a spider just wont go with my vehicles when transformed...i dunno, guess its just me

I have three universe deluxes, (Prowl,Octane,Suckstreaker) and one animated deluxe (cybertron mode Prime).

the animated figure is just more fun and better made.

Thus, I say animated.
