Oh yeah, the toca thing got old the first week. QFT.

OT, the next series needs some version of Jazz that's a bounty hunter. Call him Jagermeister.

I just hate rude people. you can tell someone to try google, and not be the biggest ass ever about it. seriously though. I LOVE the ignore feature. or better yet, how about the old saying, if you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything, unless your calling someone else out on there being a turbo dick.

Does anyone know if there is a story behind Movor? I didn't answer it in my original post because I didn't know. I figured it was just a modification of Move or Mover that they could tradmark.

Also, what's the story with Meister? I looked it up on webster.com, but that doesn't explain why Takara used it as Jazz's name.

And I wish everyone would settle down about the "Google it" thing. I thought it was pretty obvious that he was making a joke.

That would require the person in question not boasting about being too lazy to use Google, though.

Honestly: If he had just asked "What does 'Meister' mean?", I'd have given him the benefit of the doubt and just assumed he had no idea that is was a German word. I wouldn't have considered the original question "stupid" enough to warrant a "GOOGLE YOU LAZY BITCH" reply.

However, openly ADMITTING "I'm too lazy to Google" was ASKING for snide remarks.

It's like openly admitting being ignorant and not expecting to be accused of being ignorant in return.

Same reason why they use English names for most of their other Transformers. "Foreign Languages Are Cool".

Wow, some folks forgot to take their Pamprin this morning. Jesus, the guy has a question for his fellow fans and has his shit jumped all over. Y'know, sometimes I don't think about the questions I have until I am actually on the forums, and at that point don't want to go google it. I want to have a discussion...on a discussion board. That does not mean that I am lazy, or that I need my IQ insulted just for asking a question.

And let's not forget that the folks who use the "google it" response with rudeness have NEVER been new to a forum, nor have they ever asked a question without properly, fully researching all possible avenues first.

I had no idea there was an ignore feature. Thank you. Seriously. My board enjoyment potential just went through the damn roof.

Seriously...are you going to Botcon? 'Cause I honestly feel like I owe you a beer now.

Oh yeah, Meistro would have worked, too.

I don't really think it was a word grab from German, it seems more likely that Takara was aiming for something in English and missed.

My bet moves from Master to Meistro.

On the pseudo off-topic bit: I don't see how googling for the German use of Meister makes any sense as an answer to the original poster's question.

Meister is not a word in English, it's only a suffix (and a colloquial one at that). Seems puzzling enough to me.

I agree 100% with those who are offended whren told to simply "use google". I'm a big google fan and I can find almost anything I want on my own, but sometimes it's nice to ask other's opinions because I'm sure we all have different ways of unearthing info. It's also nice to interact with fellow board members since this is, after all, a community and communities need to communicate. duh. Besides, I've actually always wondered about the name Meister myself (among a ton of other things), but I don't have time to "google" it all myself. I do like to come on now and then and just read.
