    There's a few that I like, but nothing's clicking.

Something short & spunky would be cool. Like Zoe are Ari.
    Bah I suck at this.

I also like "Story" a whole lot for some reason.

Try thinking of names you absolutely would not want to name her, like Skyler, Eustace, and Brandene, and see if that list of "no"s can help lead you to ideas you DO like.

You could also get a baby name book and search by implications of the name, if that's up your alley (Ali is not a bad name, I guess, you know, Allison), or look at lists of what's been popular in previous years, though this could ensure that your kid is one of many in their class sharing the same name.

My step daughter is named Asiah, pronounced like the continent. A lot of people like her name.

I've always been partial to Abigail ("father rejoice"/"father's joy"), which can be shortened to any variation of Abi/Abby or Gail. Or some version of Sara, as a second choice.

But, nowadays, there are three popular ways to select a child's name:

    (1) Pick whichever fictional character of the appropriate gender is most popular at the moment, name child after them. So, if you're looking for something short, "Kat" or "Ana" would be among the top choices under this method.

    (2) Flip to a random page in the dictionary, point to a random word and apply the result to the child's birth certificate.

    (3) Reach into a bag filled with Scrabble tiles and randomly select 5 - 10 tiles. Rearrange those tiles into something vaguely name-like, apply the result to the child's birth certificate.

Dayums, I get better baby feedback here than I do anywhere else.

Ali is sticking a bit. Allison's a pretty respectable name.
Could be bold and name her Megatron.

If you're going to give her a geek name, for the love of all that is holy make it obscure enough that it can pass for a regular name. Or there's always middle names for the more "interesting" monikers.

Katie is short and cute. It's a nice name, even though it's my ex's. Oh, pro tip: don't name your kids after any ex's, even from school.

It may be a boy's name but we named our daughter Blaise. Could never imagine her being someone else.

We named our daughter Alice after the main character in the resident evil movies (although we always call her Ali). One of our friends just named their daughter Willa, and now everyone of our friends is like "oh that name is so awesome and now none of us can use it"- so feel free to use that one

1st daughter is Emma, second daughter is named Brooklyn. If we have another we are thinking Zoey.
