What's a fair price to ask for Henkei Alert?

    I just picked up Generations Red Alert, and decided that I like him more then my Henkei Alert. I want to sell him off, but not sure what to ask for him. any suggestions? the figure has only been transformed into Robot mode once, and stood on my Classics shelf for the better part of a year. no dents, chips, or chrome wear.

    That's a tough one. At Botcon this year (which was after the announcement of Generations Red Alert), I know at least one place was selling him for below $40. If I wanted one (which I really don't), I'd say $40 max....maybe as low as $30 if its opened. He is definitely different enough to warrant charging a premium. Any more than 3-4x the retail price of the Generations version seems too high, though. That's just my opinion.

    Well, you gotta find someone selling it first :lol . Ebay only has 2 Henkei Red Alerts and both of them are sealed. I'd say around 40 bucks is the magic number but sellers are probably holding onto red since the Hasbro version was just released and torpedoed the value. I'm sure the value will bounce back in a year or so

    Henkei has the superior deco so $40 for loose one doesn't seem bad

    Now, now....let's say "different deco" or "IMO", before you end up starting something. :D

    I have to agree with metrotitan. I was also at Botcon this year, and he's right, there were some dealers selling him for $40.

    First off, I'd like to say that you're insane saying you prefer the Generations deco.

    But I bought my Henkei Alert from Bodhar last December for $55, I think. $40 loose is pretty reasonable, if maybe a bit generous (I would go $50). Then again, we see how I started off my post. I think the Generations deco/color scheme looks horrid.

    Between $45-60 sounds about right, be it sealed or loose.

    Hasbro = G1 Toy
    Henkei = G1 Show

    Personally, I prefer the Henkei version. I say if you do not need the money right now, hold onto him. A lot of people are dumping theirs off right now in favor of the Hasbro version, so there are more in the market. I would keep him as trading fodder for something you really want but are unable to get later on.
