I remember seeing that a Mirage knockoff was being made by the guy who did Swoop. Ages3andup even had a pre-order for it at one point. Did it get cancelled?

I too await these KO reissues. In fact, I await as many as possible.

Apparently, it was delayed as a result of box issues.

I hope not. I'm not gonna spend big money on lousy, worn toys, when I can get a new one for the same or lesser ammount of money.

Yeah, how dare anybody ever defy Hasbro/Takara and actually get the toy(s) they want. Perhaps, instead of crying over how much potential money was "lost," they could start, oh I don't know, actually producing and selling desired toys themselves? It's absolutely ridiculous that these small time amateurs can find a market with low quantities and high prices, yet all we get is hand-wringing from the official sources (legions of bloodthirsty apologists too). Isn't it?

This statement is ridiculous. Are you one of the people paying $70 for that KO g1 MISB Swoop? Why are you people even funding this KO? Just because you can't afford the true figure? And just because you can't afford it the true collectors are the bad guys? I see no point in displaying a fake collectible of any kind. Even if I only knew it was fake I would not display it. That is me but I guess everyone is different.

I only support and buy genuine items. If that makes me a "hater" I guess I'm a hater. Enjoy your knock offs.

It truly baffles me people knowingly buying fake products. You are like the women sporting the fake gucci bags. What makes collecting mint G1 products special is because there are very few in good condition now. They are RARE items. It is buying something from your childhood made 20+ years ago. Why would you fund a criminal selling extremely overly priced figures? You are paying out the nose for poorly made fake stuff. Plastic and cardboard slapped together and they charge atleast 1000% profit on it. And you guys scoop it up.

    Horrible.

Because I'm not into buying collectibles, I'm into buying toys that I could not have bought or found as a child. And how do you know the bootleg items are all cheap quality and poorly made?? I have a Sandstorm bootleg that is the same as the original. Scraper as well, the only telltale sign his unpainted head. His plastic is the same as the original one and his chrome is still shiny after 16 years.

Well knock offs are definitely the same quality as the actual toy. I've seen plenty of knocks offs man. It feels cheap. Like I said before you are basically over paying for a cheap TOY.

It is basically buying a fake painting and paying 50% of the original's value. Or paying 50% off a real rolex. To me its ridiculous but to each his own.

I'm into buying toys that I couldn't buy or find as a child too but my standards are just higher. I wish I was pleased with junk because I'd save a lot of money.

I bought a couple junker Mirages at Botcon '06 along with a Reprolabels set and made one (quite) good one. don't think it cost much more than most of these knockoffs average for price, either.
