John Noble is Australian, so that accent is probably leaking into his performance a bit. Whether or not that's intentional, I can't say for certain.

In any case, I really like his voice for Unicron. It's no Orson Welles, but no one else ever will be. And to be honest, I thought Orson's performance was rather blah anyway.

He doesn't sound British at all to me, actually, I don't think he has any kind of accent [not even an Australian one, as John Noble is Australian], if anything, he sounds American.

To me John Noble sounded more Scottish if anything almost like ROTF Jetfire. He wasn't my first choice for Unicron at all.

Personally i would have went with someone like Michael Clarke Duncan, Fred Tatasciore or Paul St. Peter as Unicron.

If I had to choose a guy to voice Unicron then Sir Christopher Lee is my man!

I like his voice. I think it's relatively evil.

And I agree that Orson Welle's voice was a bit meh.

Sometimes he was good, others... he sounded pretty lame. He sounded like he was doing an impression fo Unicron for humourous purposes mostly. I think as long as he stays away from that he'll make a fine Unicron.

I liked the voice acting the most at the end during the speech when all the Unicrons were ganging up on Prime.

In all seriousness, I really liked John Noble's VO for Unicron, I can't wait for parts 2 and 3 of "One Shall Rise."

Considering Orson Welles is dead I consider John Noble's voice to be an all right choice - might not be the perfect choice, but I think it works.
I found he had several moments where his voice was enjoyable to listen to (I like the way he says: "You professed your loyalty to me, yet you allowed a disciple of Primus to LIVE!?").

John Noble freaking aced it. I love his work on Fringe and it threw me for a loop when I heard his voice on Episode 24. Great addition to the A-list cast they've got already.

I think he did a good job as Unicron. And who knows, when he grows to even larger sizes, they might pump his voice full of bass. Even Orson Welles' normal voice didn't sound like Unicron, afterall.
And for all those that said "kingly" or "nordic viking", I'm right there with ya'. The beard and horns help too. :p

I like it. He hides his accent pretty well but there's just enough there, along with the character design, to give Unicron a certain Norse-ness. It's all in the way he pronounces the letter R, I think.

all the bitching in the world won't change unicron's voice.

just accept what is...and move on.
