i would prefer a release in regular format. I don't wanna buy a blueray or HD just for that movie. Let's be serious, it's not like it is kingdom hearts 3 for the PS3! LOL :lol

I believe Paramount releases titles in both HD-DVD and Blu Ray. We'll probably get it in both, but we'll almost certainly get it in at least one of them.

And OF COURSE they're going to release a standard DVD as well. It's patently ridiculous to even entertain the notion that they wouldn't. We're still years away from companies ending support of standard DVD.

BlueRay is what Sony envisions as the next big step. Supposedly, it is to DVD what DVD was to VHS. Seems like a waste to me. DVD is great and I really don't want to have to rebuy my movie collection in yet another format because the old one is not supported anymore.

Both HD and Blu-ray players support standard DVDs, so you won't have to repurchase your collection like with VHS.

But since the date they rolled out, both formats have sold a combined total of only about 3 million units, which is what crappy direct to DVD movies sell on Standard Definition...so don't sweat the issue for a good, long while.
