I know there were supposed to be more death scenes and action sequences, but was there anything else?

You mean from between the storyboards to the final film? Off the top of my head...

    -The death of Mirage
-Ultra Magnus being Drawn and Quartered as opposed to being blown apart
-Ultra Magnus going from his Diaclone colorscheme to what we know (questionable)
    -The design for Autobot City

Yeah that's what I meant sorry. The Magnus colorscheme is new to me. I knew about the deaths and Autobot City design. Thanks!

    Shockwave was killed

Hot rod was going to be on the same ship as arcee (seen in the trailer)

    Gears one scene was cut.

Inferno's one big scene was cut.
The comets hitting each other and blinding the prowl and ironhide. prowl would have talked in this scene.

Arcee gets shot but shakes it off.
Autobot city blowing up some nameless seekers.

Speaking of storyboards: WOMBATKING.COM - Transformers the Movie Deleted Storyboards

See also: The Planet-Eater! - Transformers Wiki ; Judgment Day! - Transformers Wiki ; The Final Battle! - Transformers Wiki (as there are some differences between the script and comic and the actual film; also notable is that the comic uses several character model sheets that were later omitted/not used, or later changed [such as Cyclonus that we see differently in season 3 on occasion])

    The story boards feature:

    • An extended sequence with Hot Rod outside Autobot City just after the attack starts
    • More Autobot deaths: Red Alert and Mirage arguably die, and Trailbreaker's corpse is seen
    • Smokescreen (not Wheeljack) and Windcharger are definitively dead
    • Bombshell definitively becomes Cyclonus
    • More fight sequences among the S1/S2 cast
      • Magnus & co take down Devastator
      • Astrotrain, Starscream, and Skywarp dogpile Prime after he takes down the others
      • Dirge goes after Prime solo and gets pile-drivered
      • A wide shot shows everyone else still fighting as Prime takes on Megatron
    • Various other things already mentioned
Check out the Wombat King link already provided above. It's good reading. :thumbs2:

Post-release, I think the only changes made were editing out the profanity, restoring the profanity, adding the bit about
    the return of Optimus Prime
at the end, and adding the black bars along the top and bottom of each frame to provide a "widescreen" release. Oh - there was also some digital cleanup work done for one of the DVD releases, restoring the original colors and stuff (but not fixing coloring errors like The Two Frenzies).
