Since we are talking about Constructicons so much lately.

In April 2008, Eric Steinbeler (sp?) stated that Hasbro won't make Animated Scrapper and Mixmaster due to them trying to eventually live up to their legendary abilities (combining into Devastator).

In Febuary 2009, we get the news and eventual confirmation of Animated being canned due to various reasons after Season 3. Yet we had no Constructicons due to what they were planning to do even thought they knew the fate of Animated has been sealed once they established their own little channel last November. So, what happens now?

I wonder if Scrapper and Mixmaster will be rereleased when Universe returns in some shape or form.

Nothing happens, unfortunately. They've already said they have no plans to give us anything "big" for Animated beyond what we've seen at presentations, which I take to mean new molds.

Maybe 4-5 years in the future in a Universe-esque line, but that's really about your best hope right now.

Works out fine for me. If they'd done this, I would have bought the toys because they make Devastator, and then I would have loathed each of them individually for how they were portrayed on the show.

Isenberg and company are on record as saying that had the show lasted for more than three seasons, they would have introduced more Constructicons as the series progressed, building up to the appearance of an Animated Devastator.

Well I gotta say, at least it was considerate of them to wait till they could do it correctly. Not like they have with ROTF FAB Devy and the CC's. They actually had everything in-hand and still screwed it up.

Actually, at Comic-Con, they said that what we saw there for Animated was what we going to get plus a few things they have yet to show...

You are completely twisting Eric's words.
He said there would not be Animated Constructicons because they had other big Devastator plans. Which means ROTF Devastator.

No, I remember that Hasbro Q&A and AniProwl has it right. Mix and Scrapper were on hold until they could be released in a form that captured their "iconic abilities," i.e. combining.

And I still hope that we'll see this two someday, if for no other reason than so I can have Scrapper ride my Animated Snarl.

I could see a TFA Devs being done similar to TFA Safeguard. Mix forms one half, Scrap forms the other, and Dirt Boss forms the head.

Mix and Scrap would have to be Voyager figures or so if we wanted a good Scout-sized Dirt Boss, but it could totally work.

My dreams were crushed when Omega Supreme was left out of the toy line.
woulda been nice to have a Devs to fight him, though.

but really, i am pleased by the lack of gestalts in TFA.
the Jet Twins are as complicated as combiners should get for this series.

Devs wouldn't really be much of a challenge for Omega supreme, he'd have to be made out like 20 constructicons to even be close to Omega's height.

Screw the animated version while I do have most of the line I would rather have a Universe mold for the simple fact that line is going to continue.

    That's what I though too

Also, if the Animated Constructicons did come out, then we would have at least a leader-class Devastator unlike Legends RoTF Devastator which would have three unique molds unlike Classics Devastator and can have transformable components that can combine unlike RoTF Supreme Devastator.

It's really, really too bad that they never bothered to make toys of Scrapper & Mixmaster since they were more than prominant enough to validate it as well as help fill out the number of Con figures. I think many/most of us quickly accepted the idea that they were just 2 stand-alone Constructicons and never expected them to combine anyway. No different than how we accepted only 3 Dinobots - even where the one that should have been named Slag was given Snarl's name. Or Lugnut's figure being smaller than Bumblebee. Or Sentinel being downsized. So on & so forth.

I think Hasbro (or whoever) really over-thought this.

I was expecting to see Animated Devastator as the season progressed too. Devastator however is a huge step for Animated, both in toy engineering and shear size. He would be awesome however.
