Over the past week: The Joy Formidable - Hitch Courtney Barnett - Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit Amon Amarth - Jomsviking Ivar Bjornson & Einar Selvik's Skuggsja Voivod - Post Society Animals As Leaders - The Joy Of Motion The Faceless - Planetary Duality
Oh dude, Joy of Motion is such a banger. Tosin Abasi is one the best guitarists in the game today. Last night I hit up the record store and picked up: - "Front Page News" - Wishbone Ash - "A Trick of the Tail" - Genesis
Tosin is definitely a genius. I was a big fan of the first Animals As Leaders album but the second album was a disappoint to me, so I didnt immediately get this last one when it came out.
Past week: - "Midnight Machines" - Lights (iTunes and LP) - "Trilogy", "Emerson, Lake and Palmer" - Emerson, Lake and Palmer (LP) - "Frampton Comes Alive" - Petee Frampton (LP) - "2112" - Rush (Super Deluxe - CD/Blu-Ray) - "There's the Rub" - Wishbone Ash (LP) - "Close to the Edge" - Yes (LP) I've been a bad boy
Underrated piece from the Megadeth catalogue, I think. I bought "A Moon Shaped Pool", the new Radiohead, on iTunes tonight, bought Uncle Acid's "Mind Control" on vinyl last night and found Death Grips' "The Powers That B" on CD earlier this week. All four are spectacular albums.
Deadpool Reloaded (More Music from the Motion Picture) Why did they have to leave off three cues and two more featured songs... The rest is filler, should've split both albums into score and soundtrack. I still like a chunk of the filler, but not too much.
-Avengers: Age of Ultron cd score (only to find out later that I already had it! dammit...) -Ant Man cd score
I've bought too many albums to list since my last post. Very last album though was Pierce the Veil's "Misadventures" on iTunes/CD. I don't give a SHIT about being trve metal album owns. I bought a signed copy of Kendrick Lamar's "untitled. unmastered." in March, but that just arrived. Technicality. Killer album. Even Kendrickms table scraps are gold.
I guess Protest the Hero's 'Pacific Myth' subscription service counts? They released a new song every month for six months (plus a six part documentary about the band and the making of their last album and various other treats for subscribers), and every song is a fucking banger. My favouritest band ever. I've got to really love a band to buy their album these days what with Spotify being a thing.
Radiohead "A Moon Shaped Pool" Been listening to it since the digital version first came out but I had to have the physical version for the car.
