I dont know much about this line, so Im curious. Was there a TV show that went with it? Was the line released with kids in mind? I see alot of familiar characters with familiar transformations, but theres always something here and there that makes them different from their original release.

    Whats the word?

There were some DVDs with some of the figures (Metallic Prime, Burning Beast Convoy, Metallic Lio Convoy), but there wasn't any show behind it...

It was just a line to bring stuff back from older lines with some repaints thrown here and there. Some figures were modified to be more show accurate (Beast Convoy has mouthplate and I believe Beast Megs has a detachable tail). The DVDs came with short 10 minute episodes made with mediocre 3d.

I'm glad someone asked.... I never knew what the concept was either.

Kinda like another outlet for reissues or for figures that weren't quite anime accurate.....

I always thought of it as the Japanese version of Universe.

I saw Robotmasters as Takara's attempt at a "Universe" type of low-end side-line, though RM was a mix of new molds (of old characters and toy designs) with repaints and a remold or two

    That's the best definition yet.

I dug a few of the molds (Star Sabre and Victory Leo), although I passed on most of 'em--even those great Machine Wars basics--on account of import costs.

The video is on the internets somewhere, don't have a link handy. It's fun in a mash-up sorta way.

I only bought a couple of figures from the line but This is one of my favorate transformers. I love the new shoulder cannon and rocket launcher additions. Much nicer than the original. :)

I love all the new molds produced in the RM line, especially the seekers and Reverse Convoy.

IMO the only thing the classics seekers did better than the RM versions is having knees - I seem to be alone in my preference for the RM seekers.

They scrapped the old cannon (the one with a little pump to launch a nerf missle) and replaced it with what you see, gave him a Optimus(Convoy) head so he can be a spy, and part of his cannon becomes the weapon in his hand. BLOWS the original out of the water.

I have the Robotmasters line and I'm quite impressed with the improved decoes. I like RM Mirage, the MW repaint, better than the Classics version. It's in scale with the 1984 cars with much better articulation and none of the Reed Richards look.

And to my knowledge, it's the only time we've seen a Decepticon tow truck. With Minnesota snow emergencies in effect, the tow trucks around here are definitely on the side of evil.

I have the Robot masters seekers and the plastic feels kind of low quality.

The plastic on the g1 prime sucked, I broke mine from the waist.

I still need rm lio convoy, can some one post some pics?

I really do like the RM Seeker mold and also overall prefer it over the Classics mold, but the Classics mold wins bc/ it has knees.

RM also gave us the smaller and affordable Victory Saber set (even if it isn't amazing), so I can't really fault the line for much...

    Not by a long shot.

There were notable breakages that frequented certain figures (Star Saber) and the plastic in general felt light and thin.

Paint aps were pretty good for the most part though.

But Robotmasters didn't have puke mustard yellow all over them and that makes up for thin plastic.
