I got away from tf's for a few months. And I've been picking up tf's lately that I have missed out on. Local stores around me have Thunderwing and Kup. Are these two figs cool enough to get? I'm not going completetionist anymore and I'm only trying to buy figs worth getting. I've seen pics where these guys are kind of just "blah." But I figure they might be cooler to play with than look at. What are you cool catz opionions of these? Buy comparision, how would you rate them next to say Classics Bumblebee or Classics Starscream.

Kup is definitely a must have. Scourge as well. Both are simply awesome. Their alt modes are not what you might expect (a contemporary pickup with a retro feel, and a blended wing aircraft), but robot modes are stunning.

imo i don't know about kup. i have him next to blurr and rodimus and his face looks too human and out of place with the others that are more blocky or cartoony. plus his mouth is opened. what's up with that?

Thunderwing isn't terribly exciting as a figure. He's a great update but the transformation isn't terribly exciting.

In terms of articulation, sculpt, and in Kup's case transformation, I find each more interesting than Bumblebee and Starscream. Considering character, etc., I'd say they are all on par.

thunderwing's alt mode underneath is sad but in robot mode behind a light he looks cool with his lit red eyes

Thunderwing is short, too short, when he should atleast be a voyager, but he cool, just on the short side. Kup is defintely a must buy, with the igear head make him a must have.
To be honest Gens/RTS is the only line you want to complete...

Avoid Thunderwing! Not worth the 12 smackers. It's nice to have a new version but he definitely fell short of the expectations. He lacks in articulation and creative transformation in my opinion.

I totally agree. I think some of these newer figures are gonna be really desirable in the very near future. Still being available, but a bit more pricey to come by.

Kup is one of my favorite characters, but his toy is easily one of the worst classics style figures we've had.

Most of the other new figures are pretty much excellent though. If you can find a Jazz or Scourge I'd say go for it.

Hm..Well, i personally would pick Kup. His alt mode may not be as awesome as a futuristic jet but you gotta love his robot mode. ;)  Plus, its KUP! XD

Both are really good figures, but Kup >Thunderwing. So of the two definitely pick up Kup.

Thunderwing is the "Napoleon" of my Decepticons. He's small, sure, but not Too small, has tons of personality and really fun to fiddle with.

Totally one of my favorites from the 2011 assortment so far.

Blurr, Perceptor, Wreck Gar, Bumblebee, Scourge, Dirge.... You can't really go wrong with much of what's out.

It's a good time to be a Transformers fan.

For those of you that are saying Wreck-Gar, he's RST. But if we're counting RST, Jazz and Tracks are must-haves.
