None, because there is no "Generation 3".

    None of them.

G1 is everything before G2. After G2 each new toyline got a name for itself. Heck G1 wasn't even the cannon name until after Classics/Universe called it that.

That's not the point. I'm asking you what do you think could be coined as G3.

Nothing could, since each series has its own name, unless you are going by your own fanwank.

Again, I'm asking of your opinion of what could be called that.

Beast Wars is the one that makes sense in that context, as it follows on the canon of G1/G2 (mostly G1)

BW is also notable for first introducing a real "next generation" of Transformers, as (with a few exceptions) they are not the same characters as G1 (unlike much of G2) in persona or technology.

Beast Wars, since it follows the G1 canon.

If, for some insane reason, Beast Wars doesn't count, then Animated.

i actually think of bots like perceptor, red alert, astrotrain and blitzwing as generation 2 transformers as they were the second generation of bots to arrive to the troops...

actual G2 was just an excuse to 'tank and neon' up megatron and let furman run riot

As others have stated, because everything since G2 has had a proper title, my brain can't force "Generation 3" onto anything.

I sometimes use the term "beast era" to encapsulate BW, BM, BW2, BWN, BWR, etc... so I suppose those series could be considered a "generation" unto themselves. But again, they've already got titles.

This will probably be the most comprehensive explanation you'll find:

EDIT: Gah, beaten to the punch! Well played!
