Besides the obvious tampered with, double-taped etc. Want to know if they reject for removed price tags. I have a piece with a removed price tag residue that i want to get graded. I heard they subtract for price tags, but now sure how it works. I also see reject letters for replaced plastic windows... How do they know this without even opening the figure?
the reject for tampering with its natural sealed state, like coloring in blemishes, the bubble having obvious signs of being lifted, stickers applied when there shouldnt be stickers applied and what not.
Just wet the residue with lighter fluid and wipe off with a paper towel. Believe it or not, it doesn't damage the packaging...even cardboard! Try it on a box you don't care about until your technique is perfected (which should only take 2 attempts).
no, they will grade if there is sticker residue, and the price sticker(depending on where its placed) will have an effect on the overall grade. i think its bullshit, but AFA gets to make the rules up depending on what type of day theyre having. thats why I dont put too much stock in the opinions/grades.
to test their limits back when armada was running, I bought an air defense minicon set, stomped on it a few times, and blasted it with a hose. the minicons were destroyed, but it was still perfectly sealed, not a single lift anywhere. I sent it off, and they sent it back without any communication. thats what kind of toy AFA rejects.
