OK I have $50. What is a good TF to get for my little resident 5 year old? Since TRU have the Supreme Animated Prime for $25, I was thinking of getting that for him and a few GI Joes. Is that good or any of you have a better suggestion.

As an adult collector, I read the supreme Prime is not all that great. But for a 5 year old, do you think this will have a lot of play value to it?

What have I done! I'm raising a Transformer fan and a GI Joe fan. My wallet will sure take a hit for both our hobby/habits. :rolleyes2

If he can manage the transformation, then I say you should get it for him.

Movie Fast Action Battlers and/or Animated Activators (if the latter are still available) will be your best bet.

If I was 5 and I got an Optimus Prime that was almost as tall as me I'd shit myself with happiness.

and for $25.? c'mon, no brainer. Instant hero status for half the price. It's a win-win!

I wouldn't bother with supreme prime, get him a small stack of fabs or cyber slammers etc. Kids love quanity and having a bunch of fun, easy to do toys they can bash together will be more fun then one big figure with a few trick gimmicks.

yeah that's a good point too. I was just thinking about when I was 5, and then thinking of the sheer size of the Animated Supreme, and thinking how overwhelming it'd be.

that'd be like buying a 4 foot transformer for an adult. I wouldn't care if it was a brick, lol. It's HUGE!

I have a five year old son. He is pretty smart, but he still needs my help (read: me doing everything) to transform his deluxe Animated Prime and Megatron (from the 2-pack). Actually he is getting better about the Prime transformation.

As for general interest, he seems to like most everything Animated, but I have never really shown him any of the movie stuff.

Ditto on the FABs. I've bought them for kids I know plenty of times and they more than dig them. The transformations are simple, but not TOO simple. And they all have an action feature or two which makes them twice the fun!

    1 X Supreme Prime
    1 X Fab
    1 X Joe

Would seem to be the best combination, i suspect the average five year old would prefer a TF over a Joe, but i may be wrong on that and suggesting to buy one of each.

    oh, please, no...

NO!!! KEEP AWAY!!! A NON GOOD-TRANSFORMING TRANSFORMER FOR A DOLLAR MORE THEN A DELUXE?! PAIN I CAN'T BEAR!!!

I'd say go for supreme prime. His transformation is really easy and a welcoming toy for a 5 year old, and absolutely for $25.

FaB's look pretty cool, pretty much designed for young kids.

This seems like the best bet. Plus the new ROC GIJoe line has these figures called Action Battlers (I think that's the name) that look a lot like smaller S6 figures, so you don't even have to worry about small parts that your child might accidentally swallow!
