so I just had my dad move all of my stuff from a closet in florida up to my new house in massachusetts. after digging it all out, I realized that I have a REDICULOUS amount of packaging. here's a partial pic to see what I'm dealing with:

I have a good solid 400 figures from the beast wars era on, that aren't japanese (I'm keeping those) and kept them in case I was ever going to sell the figures or to use the boxes for moving. since I'm not doing either, all they really do is take up space, and most of them don't have interesting card art.

should I try selling them, or would there probably not be enough interest to make it worthwhile? if not, any suggestions? I've heard people sometimes flatten the boxes, but I don't see how to do that without ruining them. my wife thanks you in advance ;)

i myself only keep g1,masterpiece and anything that can stack.
for the cards maybe toss the bubble and keep the back. That will save some space and no one really likes bubbles.

yeah, my mp, binaltech, and g1 boxes aren't being touched, along with anything japanese, but I'm looking for a little bit of advice, as well, especially from people with bigger, opened collections :thumb

I'd recycle them. Make sure they're just plactic and card first. (noticed Vector Prime's Force Chip)

But Jeebus Murphy, huge pic man!

put them up in the sales area....and ebay them....there is a demand for the g1 boxes definitely....i just hooked a member up with magnus reissue box for $10 plus shipping...i had no need for it....so definitely see if people want them, place a sales ad asking for offers....try to sell them before you just toss them.

By Scourge's hot butterly lugnuts... I'd say f*** it and and chuck it.

And by that I of course mean have sexual intercourse with plastic and cardboard before throwing it out of the window of a moving bus at homeless people.

    Folks:

Boxes can be flattened easily without damage if you cut all the tape. They're shipped flat, aren't they? This even goes for oddball boxes like Cybertron.

I have saved my 6Ti boxes intact; they're nice. The rest has been flattened and Sterilite-binned, with the inserts tossed. My master plan is to cut them up and make a gigantic collage of boxart to put behind my display shelves.

He's already said he's keeping the G1 boxes.

Personally, I keep the card backs and cut off the backs of the boxes, and just chuck the rest. To be honest, I'm not even quite sure why I do that; it's just a sort of habit.

do you have any pics of some of your boxes? I'm kind of worried that if I do that to the ones I want to keep that it'll ruin the plastic windows or something.
