    I would just keep both

As a matter of fact, according to the story Takara put out for the BT version, he is Beast Wars ravage (more or less) in a new body.

Trash the Jag and keep the Vette. I hated the Vette when it came out but it $*+Z all over the Jag IMO.

I don't remember Ravage ever speaking in the G1 cartoon... unless you count the rare occasion when the cassettes would "speak" when played back in Soundwave.

I always thought this was kind of dumb. As I turn to the original Tech Specs in most cases of determining "proper" canon, I always preferred the idea that he was an independent Decepticon in his own right... not a "pet" for Soundwave. Ravage and Buzzsaw were always favourites of mine specifically because of their personalities, despite their non-anthropomorphized forms.

Though it does raise questions... are the condors, Ravage and Ratbat made to simply "resemble" Cybertronian fauna, or ARE they Cybertronian fauna with an intelligence upgrade? Otherwise, why do they resemble animals?

Heh. Not that this has much to do with your dilemma over what to do with your spare Ravage. :)

IIRC, Ravage is the very first character to say anything - scoring the opening line of dialogue right back in issue #1

Yep. Ravage is the first Transformer to speak in the Mavel comics.

    He says:
Megatron confirmes it's Ravage talking inb the next panel.

unless I'm mistaken, there was at least one scene in season 1 where Ravage is being played back in Soundwave, and the voice that comes out isnt the same as what he recorded, nor does it match any Decepticon voice, and so I always assumed it was Ravage's voice.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about... though I think it was Casey Kasem doing the voice, so it sounds a little bit like Cliffjumper/Teletran-1.

That's kind of a weird case, since it implies that Ravage can only articulate when playing back information in tape mode. Interesting, but I don't think they used that often enough for it to really be established as his "voice".

I actually really did like Ravage's "voice" on the G1 cartoon... that thin, tinny snarling sound he would make. It's one of those distinctive sounds that really defines G1 for me. They had a lot of really great sound design on that show... stuff that was particular to Transformers, not just generic canned sound effects you'd hear on any cartoon.

That strangled "dinobot roar" is also a favourite of mine. :)

Has others have said, the only instance of a voice was playback when acting as a tape. Other than that, Ravage had no independent voice beyond the sounds a realjaguar would make. I know since I just watched Season 1-2 last month. :banghead:

why are people saying that the alternator line is dead?

Has it been confirmed? Cause I still think it has ways to go especially since we still need Megatron, hopefully as a Cadillac
