I'm taking it that the actual figures themselves for the next movie will be smaller than normal to accommodate these strange 'weapon thingies"

Needs it's alloys painted otherwise looks like a nice car mode.

The thing humping it, I neither know nor care, it's removable.

Actually, I'm reminded of when we first saw Energon Bulkhead and his... accessory.

Ew. When people say they want vehicle mode weapon storage THIS IS NOT WHAT THEY MEAN.

While I don't think I'll get it, I have to say, Leader Bee looks pretty nice so far. I just hope that Megs get's this year's third Leader spot. Also, I'm begining to think that these Mechtech weapons will combine to form
    the "ark"

    Well, Bumblebee himself looks cool.

Maybe all these mechtech weapons can combine into a ship or robot, that looks like a part of something.

These all look like they could potentially be rocket packs/boosters as well as weapons.

It's probably best to wait and then watch Takara do a 'masterpiece' version sans the stupid roof... thing

This just shows, this mech tech concept isn't well thought out. It doesn't gel with the camaro at all in any visually pleasing way.

The only one who pulls it off, is the voyager Megatron.

Bumblebee has a beautiful alt mode, that probably needs only a few paint details on the wheels to be absolutely perfect. I still don't know what to think about the Mech Tech feature yet, though, but hopefully they do something fun for it.

I agree, all the weapons are a part of the BAF scheme

I honestly don't think they are supposed to work well with the alt-modes. It's more of a pure gimmick/toy-line thing. I think the only reason that Megatron's works so well with his alt-mode, is because he should have it in the movie, while all the others probably won't, and even if they do, they might have it for one or two scenes, while Meg's will be carrying his around all the time.

Initially I thought these weapons would combine for regular figures, but perhaps they can all combine into some super weapon for a supreme class figure?

    Bumblebee himself looks pretty good.

The Mechtech thing is downright horrible, though.

That gun thing almost looks like a torso, put I don't think there are any ports in the right places to use it in that way.
While other mech tech weapons will obviously be able to combine with it, I wonder if there will be an official combo (a certain base? weapon? robot?) or if it will be left completely open for individual interpretations.

Megatron's mechtech weapon disguises as the gas tank on the truck's loader. In robotmode, it's his fusion blaster. It makes sense in both a visual and functional manner.

This plastic turd on BB's rooftop however, isn't even shaped in anyway which suggests a sort of natural harmony. And that's why it's a tacked on gimmick which slurps up unnecessary budget from the mold engineering.

Mechtech seems to be a pretty bad idea for a gimmick. I am hoping we will still get standered weapons as well. Did anyone see if Deluxe DOTM bumblebee had the plasma cannon and blade like the Battle Blade?

I've learned never to judge a toy but the initial leaked photos. Things are transformed wrong, the figure is sometimes not yet painted all the way and things can just look, even on the best figure, like shit.

I think the Mechtech thing is clearly mistransformed here. I don't think it's supposed to be splayed out like that in car mode. I think the Mechtech weapons are being designed for robot mode and, let's be honest, that's the mode where most playability comes in. I know I only keep toys in vehicle mode occasionally and often not very long. With these guys, I'll probably do what I do with Ironhide's, Jazz's, Arcee/Chromia/Elita-One's, etc weapons that currently sit on top of the vehicle...put them to the side while in vehicle mode. The only reason I have them attached right now is because we're moving soon and I'm trying to keep everything together.

*note: why don't I start all my sentences with "I think/know..."? That'll be great! Way to go aspiring writer!*

Was my first thought too. I can only hope all the bits of crap combine into something. And I mean something that isn't just a bigger chunk of crap.
