I went to toyrus today and what the hell is the matter? The prices for deluxe animated transformers are almost 17.00 each, generations deluxe are almost 16.00 each? whats going on???????? I would not want to buy them for that much more.

Toys R US being Toys R Us, really. They tend to jack up prices a lot around this time of year.

Maybe TRU just wants to make a little profit and go buy some KOs with the extra.

I have seen and have heard that when gas prices rise so does products/produces/etc. That being said, $16 for a deluxe figure at TRU, I guess I'll shop somewhere else like Target or Walmart. :)

They're trying to make a few extra bucks and buy that Shadow Scyther from BBTS for 89.99.

Maybe a TRU executive saw the epic Shadow Scythe thread and got an idea.

Well, Mac has extra money to spend thanks to those Shadow Scythe sets. I'm sure TRU is hardly cutting into his TF fund. Heck, he might even work something out with the TRU employees. I wouldn't put it past him.

EDIT: Forgive me if I don't sound sympathetic. It's because I am not.

I am so happy I was able to jump onto the $7.99 sale they had 2 weeks ago. I was able to hook up fellow forum members RTS Jazz and Tracks at that price.

@ mac&cheese: I personally think that TRU took a leaf right out from your book.

With that, I hope they give you credit for your future purchases. :popcorn

If the deluxes are that high, then I hate to find out how much they will charge for the Voyagers.

They're padding the price on Generations Deluxes because they've decided 'collectors' will pay a premium for them.

What they're missing however is that a large chunk of the people they're trying to target will just pre-order them online anyway.

Strictly speaking, there aren't any Generations Deluxes on which to pad the price.
