how did we go from this:
Well the top one is from the Universe/Classics line, whereas the bottom one is based on the Optimus Prime design in the Fall of Cybertron game.
You mean how did they go from a Voyager class toy to a Deluxe one?
Nevermind that is toy a Voyager vs a deluxe, there´s also the price of oil which as been on the rise, to account for. But don´t let those pesky details get in the way of a good rant.
The FoC one looks so much better.
I really like the FOC one...
A real fan doesn't worry about things like that.
It looks so bland when compared to WfC Prime. Also I really hate when they put wheels on the arms.
The FoC Prime probably has better articulation and virtually zero kibble. I don't think it's fair to say that it's unilaterally inferior.
It is my opinion mind you. I´m also a bigger fan of the more smooth aesthetic of WfC Prime.
and also FOC they want a toyline! and they want to keep up with the generation!
I for one think FoC Prime looks pretty badass, myself. Always was more of a fan of the blockier forms of him as opposed to the sci-fi curvy ones.
Oops, I was responding to the OP. I should have been more clear.
I also prefer WfC Prime's aesthetic, but I wish the toy wasn't so panel-y.
Does anyone else think FOC Prime looks a touch....slimmer than he has in early viewings?
Lower grade Energon when he made it to Earth. Much more fattening.
Yeah, you're right, but compared to the Classics one, it's great.
You are right in that regard.
Yeah, classics Optimus was hardly the definitive Prime. Bad proportions, tons of kibble, goofy weapons...
We've come a long way. FoC Prime looks mainly like he needs more detail on his legs. That's about it.
MEH I was never a fan of either mold.
classics weapons: 2
FOC weapons: 1, and it really looks like $hit
Whether or not you like the look of classics prime, you can't deny that is one of the more solidly made primes. There was a clear effort to make it a quality toy. I get the feeling with FOC prime that it was just put together as fast and as cheaply as possibly to maximize profit and minimize cost. I'm not going to bother trying to say one "looks" better than the other as that is very subjective, but just based on the points I mentioned, I don't like the trend, which is the point of my post.
