Looks like you have a leak in the attic. That looks like caked on, dried dirt.

Heat damage? Did you have him stored in a plastic bag or something that could've melted and got all over him?

Doesn't look like discoloring to me , more like something is either on the surface or has damaged it .

Have you tried wiping/washing your Skywarp to see if what ever that is will come off?

Judging by the water droplets on the inside of his cockpit canopy there, I'd say it might have something to do with water and/or heat/humidity. Like others are asking, does any of it come off with cleaning?

Good eye. Didn't even notice that. Yeah, I'd say it's mold or mildew IF it wipes/washes off. No clue on the cause.

Some attics in house are not finished. some are not properly insulated. Since the attic is so close to the roof. the roof like have leaks or gaps in it. being so close to the roof means more water damage, more heavy, more cold. Since hardly anyone cleans their attic it's prone to excessive dust build up.

You should have placed that MP Skywarp in a water proof plastic tote with a cover that cost under $4 at most stores. maybe thrown a towel over the sealed tote cover to block the harmful sun rays. maybe even wrapped the toy in a towel inside the plastic tote to further protect this toy.

    Looks like mould or mildew.

I use colorox to kill the mold or mildew then clean it up with TSP (trisodiumphosphate). I've tried some on plastic but never on a TF.

Clorox, aka bleach, is what you kill mold with but, well, it's bleach and we all know what bleach does.

Tsp won't bug it at all - it used to be in everything detergent related.

Anyway, I'm going with heat induced oxidization.

Have to agree with the clear coat fading. The Takara versions of Skywarp have a shiny gloss of clear coat on them that distinguished them from Starscream. Probably short of stripping the old clear coat and repainting the whole thing, there's no much to be done about it.

Oxidation on plastic. I think we have a winner.
