Toys R Us has 25th anniversary reissues of G1 Transformers
    Walmart has 25th anniversary Masterpieces
What does Target have and do they ALL cary Alternators? Also, what Alternators are currently in stores?

I'm thinking of hunting for my first Alternator at our local Walmarts and Targets. Would like to find Prowl if possible.
Are there any Alternators I should avoid? I don't want to get the Optimus Prime figure as an Alternator model since I'll be getting his Masterpiece version instead. My plan is to collect the Alternators to go along WITH the Masterpiece Prime.

What should I look for at Target?

So what should I look for at local stores? Walmart, Target, Toys R Us.

Yeah....I wouldn't go store-to-store hoping to find Alternators. They are all long gone. You can always find some on eBay, or most other online stores. (not counting retailers)

EDIT: You could find Legends Devastator at Walmart.

Thank you, not sure I want legends stuff. Mostly interested in G1 and Alt's.
I'm very tempted to pick up Preceptor at TRU if he's still there.

Check the Resources section here at tfw2005. Click on my sig link ;)  Just check out what figures you are looking for to see if they are an exclusive to a certain store or not and you can see when they were released. Also, since you are somewhat new, it might do you a little good just to check out alot of the resources sections just to learn more about all the toys, cause I noticed you have been starting alot of threads asking alot of questions lately. It might help you out alot.

Also, besides Leo Prime, Burning Fallen, and the Legends five pack I can't think of any Target Exclusives in store at the moment.

Thank you. I remembered seeing the Alternators in stores a while ago but was never interested in them as I am now. Funny how that works.

I missed out on the Alt's too. I think they retailed around $20. Of course you can get them all on eBay now for double the price, or more, but no more stores.

You probably should get yourself the TRU Perceptor & Insecticons since that's really all that's currently in stores that you collect (you said G1 & Alts).

If you do, save the receipt because they're shelf warming in my area so I'd imagine a sale on those down the line.

I've already got the Insecticons. I wonder what the next set of reissues will be?

I was in the same boat. Out of the little G1 stuff I was able to salvage from when I was a kid; Perceptor and the Insecticons were part of that.

well for the San Diego comic con they are doing a G1 Blaster reissues with 3 of his cassette minions. and if there are extras they sell them on the Hasbro toy shop website. but that won't happen until this summer some time not sure on the exact date of it. if you go to the big bad toy store website they have a good varieties of G1s and G1 reissues available for purchase and alternators as well. but be warned they tend to be a bit high in price on some things

Then you are S.O.L. for the forseable future. Alternators are deader than Elvis, which is what happens with a collectors line outside Japan. And IF they do more reissues at TRU it probably won't be till fall.
