There are two games I've been wanting to get this year. Fall of Cybertron and Assassin's Creed 3. But with Fall of Cybertron coming around the corner, I'm thinking about cancelling my preorder on AC3 and putting the money on FOC to pay more of it off and then re-preorder AC3 later. Should I do that, or keep my preorders on both?
Is it even a good idea to preorder Assassin's Creed? Those games tend to price collapse rather quickly.
Playing on PC or console? If PC, I would go with Fall of Cybertron because of Ubi's horrible DRM solution. If console, I am not sure. If you're ever planning to pick up a Wii U, the Wii U version of AC3 should be better visually. So if you ever pick up that console later, Im sure you can wait a bit get a slightly better version of AC3 for cheaper after a price drop. If you're staying with current gen for awhile time, I would go with FoC because its not getting a Wii U port. Overall, I would inch towards AC3, since the AC franchise has become one of those yearly-installment franchises.
I don't plan on getting FOC, so I won't tell you to stick with AC3. So I guess what is important right now is what both preorder bonuses means to you? If you don't care too much about one of them, then go ahead and cancel that one. If you care for both, then keep both. One thing is for sure, you don't have to go pick it up should you change your mind. You'll be credited $5 (you could probably get that cash back) and you can put that towards something else. You have two months between both games. If you decide to re-preorder AC3 later, then you should be fine so long as its just the regular edition.
Cancel AC3 preorder, the game comes out in two months and you can more than likely get it cheaper at Black Friday sales.
I'm a big fan of both, but like others said just cancel your pre-order for AC3 an buy, FoC you have about like 3 months to re-pre order the game.
