and now that I got it, he has two of the same guns (where as one should be a mirror image of the other)! What should I do? Can I use one of the other robot brother guns instead? Meaning, is it the same color gun or is this gun recolored into a new color never used before?

Should I email the seller?

Unfortunately, this was a very, very common error among that years exclusives. Nothing the seller can do as he likely wasn't aware of this.

 

  Did those people get doubles of the same side, or some got doubles of one side and others got doubles of the other? This way, I can trade with someone who got doubles of the 'other' side.

 

It might be worth putting an ad in the wanted forum; as Joe said, that was a very common error indeed.

 

It may be worth your time to just buy a cheap RID Prowl and use Prowl's guns for Botcon Sideswipe. It really won't make a difference aesthetically IMO...

It was failty common for both. Some had two lefties, some had two righties. At the show, there was actually a huge meetup with people exchanging the weapons. Problem was, if you didn't open it, you couldn't fix the problem.

 

Thanks everybody for your info! It turns out that I need the 'top' weapon launcher. 'Top' meaning that it mounts to the top part of the robot arm. PM me if you want to swap.

 

Of course the boxes were never selaed properly, so it was easy to tell if you had the proper launchers or not.

 

yeah... I was thinking about that. Mine didn't have any tape on the box. So theoretically he could have known...
