i just stumble on some tf war machine toys on ebay, what series are these? any cartoon base? they do look pretty cool and their not expensive for misb items. i like how optimus, megatron, soundwave and sar scream looked alot. they are from the early 90s i believe? anyone have these with feedback about them? i would love to learn about these. thanks.

Are you talking about Machine Wars?

It was a KB Toys exclusive line, released sometime inbetween Beast Machines and Robots in Disguise. It consisted of molds not released in the US up until that point: European G1/G2 molds, and unreleased flipchanger molds from the tail-end of G2.

As a filler line and a curiosity, there was no media released to correspond. Unless you count cameos in comic books or whatnot.

I hate the thing that Prime's trailer turns into....very cool vehicle mode though, although I don't remember him being able to actually turn.

It's more fun when it's Thunderclash, and he's got that vertical feed rapid-fire launcher thing going on. Stripped of the gimmickry, the base mode does seem kinda... odd.

It actually came out earlier, during the first year or two of Beast Wars. I personally always considered it to be a continuation of Generation 2, given where the toys came from, although officially, it is an entity in its own right.

That gravity-fed launcher, along with the one Colossus has, is one of the BEST missile gimmicks in Transformers. Fun. As. Hell.
