That is, if games can scare you. Whenever some giant boss is in the game and activates the vibration gimmick on my controller, I'm shocked unless the boss is the same size as the character the player is playing as or smaller, like in Metal Gear Solid on PSX but if the boss is like R.H.I.N.O from Ultimate Spider-Man, I'm scared. Oh, and having a giant monster chasing me also scares me, like in the Cryptic Castle stage from Shadow the Hedgehog, making me sensitive.

Something about f-ed up kids gives me the willies. Like the Grey Children from Silent Hill 1, or the cherubs from Doom 3. Creatures like that.

I guess it's just that same vein of horror movies that when you run into the children that "want to play with you", you'll have your throat torn out before you can take a step back.

I think I'm in a safe area, usually concentrating on an enemy off in the distance, and some dude sneaks up on me without making a sound and attacks me. The quieter it was and the louder the attack, the better. Happened numerous times in Fallout 3 and it usually manages to get a swear word or two out of me.

Big shit I can't kill chasing me. That Antlion Guardian in Half Life 2 Ep2 had my heart beating abnormally.

Anything in a dark mission. I seriously freak out if I'm playing a part in a game that's dark and you have to use a flashlight or something, and there is any bad guys around, excluding The Maw from Halo CE because the Cove's are too damned funny.

I also hate zombies in games, not because they're repetitive or anything, but because I'm such a pussy that I can't even shoot properly when scared.

Banshee's from ME3, I freaked out so much when I first encountered one in a multiplayer match, I ran away like a little bitch and left my teammate for dead.

    Dead-fucking-Space.

    Never again!

My girlfriend's sister's boyfriend dared me to play Dead Space 2 in the dark, no lights, for an hour and would give me $100 on the condition I didn't scream or yell.

Still don't know how I got the money.

Adding more things because I'm a pussy....

Whenever you're unarmed and an enemy kills your teammates, If that ever happens I'll probably leave the game.

"Hi, PLAYER 1, help me walk down this path here, and try not to let me get hurt!"

Run like fucking hell and never look back.

In-game horrors, not so much. I tend to go with the flow - most I've ever been creeped is in stealthy games: Thief, and Amnesia get me. The feelings of helplessness that follows not being able to fight what's pursuing you, and knowing it could be behind any corner.

This doesn't really "scare" me, but I do hate it whenever I get so close to defeating a boss, and then I die.

Creepy unkillable mobs that follow you. I remember I was scared as hell of the Knaarens when I played Rayman 3. They creeped me out. Also, jump scares.

Missions where you must escort/protect a target from enemies. Not afraid of them, but I hate them sooooooo much. I also hate timed ANYTHING, especially ones where you just HAVE to collect x-amount of objects before time runs out. I fucking HATE that shit with a brutal passion.

Oh yeah, I also get scared a bit when you have to escape a level within a certain time limit suddenly.

Ditto. All of a sudden the game stops becoming an enjoyable form of interactive entertainment and becomes a "fuck you, you've gotta RUSH!" job.

I play games to relax, I don't play them to get all hyped up and frustrated. Even when I did encounter such situations in games, the feeling of accomplishment from getting through said situations was never a satisfying payoff. It only left me pissed and glad to be rid of that shit.

    I think it was 1999.

I bought this FPS shooter game for my PC, Alien vs. Predator. Opening it up, I saw a coupon for free underwear - I noted the attempt at humor with a wry smile and proceeded to load up the game. Not too bad, it was decent - had to play as the Predator of course, loved the thermal vision and all the cool weapons. Then I went out with the boys for a while.

Later on that night, I'm back in the barracks room, alone. I cut the lights out and started up the game, deciding this time to play as a Human Marine. Immediately, it felt spooky. Right down to the motion detector making the same noises it did in Aliens. The further I got, the more apprehensive I got.

AND THEN THE GODDAMN ALIENS JUMPED IN BEHIND ME SHRIEKING AND SCREAMING!!!

And I jumped up and screamed like a little bitch, bashing the hell out of my right knee. Took a bit for my heartbeat to stop going 100 mph too :D
