I'm considering a kitbash and to look up a donor kit, I need to know scale. The deluxe cars seem like 1/32, and G1 cars look like 1/43. Am I close?

That's what I estimated. But I'm no expert.

most mainline toys are what the old-time model kit builders called "box scale", as in whatever scale fits in a standard-size package (and only uses a certain amount of raw materials/parts/engineering/etc.)

Recent deluxe size cars are indeed close to 1/32 scale. I've got a cheap 1/32 '72 Trans Am, and it looks right, next to guys like Downshift (energon and Cybertron) and Classics Bumblee.

Sweet, 1/32 it is. My plan is to bash a 1/32 Porsche 935 kit onto a stripped down Cyb Downshift body and give myself a cobbled together Classics Jazz. I don't want to wait until '09 to see if Hasbro decides to do one (which if I make one, they will).

If I ever get my hands on another Energon Downshift I may try to bash some non-powerlinking legs onto him for a Classics Wheeljack, but no rush.

    Thanks fellas.
